you will lose stored info on your head unit (time, if its a password protected unit, you will need the password to turn it back on) other than that nothing to really worry about

i usually disconnect the ground.. if you are resetting the computer leave it disconnected for about 30 min i think, some say hit the brakes once its disconnected to dissipate leftover energy in the wires.. but i dont think thats necessary
