looking to upgrade my alternator. I've got 2 diamond audio d9 15's, and 3 pairs of 6.5" pioneer premier speakers. my amps draw a 180 amps max. (fuse rating). Im gonna wire in 3 optima batteries w 2/0 cable (not 2 ga.). so I quess im looking for a 200 amp or better alt. any suggestions. any will help.

We'll just let biju, the scurvy dog of the VX audio world, respond to this one.

    Hey koala:

Not sure anyone's found a direct bolt on that breaks the 170+ amps, but I could be wrong.

However, if this company you've found has one - give it a whirl and report back! I'm sure lots of folks would appreciate the find.

I think at one point there was a 190amp (+/- a few amps) from a chevy that someone rigged to fit. But if you've searched, I'm sure you found that post already...

Best of luck, and keep us posted!

    -biju.

    p.s. - 15" D9's? OMG - those are sexy. Post some picks!!!

Looks like this company offers custom alternators. They might require core to upgrade though. http://www.motorcityreman.com/high-amp-alternators.html
