A mass air flow sensor costs under $150 and you can change it yourself in about ten minutes. Is the check engine light on with codes indicating a problem with that part? You should clean the wires in the center of the sensor first. Those wires get dirty and cause trouble. Gently spray 'em with electrical contact cleaner.
