    Thanks - Bart

I think you will find that the parking brake is mechanical so Hyd. shouldn't be an issue. Proable just the micro sw out of adj.

i thought that too.. but when i bled my brakes, if my friend poured brake fluid in a certain spot in the reservoir, the "BRAKE" light would come on for a bit then go back out.. and the e-brake was not engaged at the time

I had that happen...I had some dynamat wedged into the connection between parking break wire and the connector...pull out the center console and check the connection to the parking break.

i had exact same problem last year. First time it was fluid so i add a little bit and everything was fine but then later it start coming back on and then off. I couldnt figure out for awhile what was wrong and then i hit the e-brake handle and light went off then i figured right away, bad connection. So there is 2 main things to check first: fluid and connection.

Don't know if you've solved your problem yet, but I had the exact same problem a while back and it turned out to be a dime or nickel (can't remember) that had gotten lodged in there and was completing the connection to turn on the light. Same as you, if I pushed it down, it would go off but then come back on.
