    Arrow Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement

I decided to replace my Fuel Pressure Regulator. Why? Because my VX has 76K miles and I have no idea how long it's been on there. It has better throttle response now. Glad I did it!

So, I took pics and here's a step by step pictorial of how to replace your FPR.

The words are in the pics. That way, I don't have to hear myself talk.

    Enjoy!

Sold the VX 11-21-07. It was fun while I had it!
    Thanks for all the help.

Talking Part 2 of FPR Replacement

Today, I ordered a seal kit for the power steering gearbox from isuzuparts.com. $152 shipped to Hawaii. I should have it next week and I'll do a pictorial on that project as well.

Since you went through all that trouble you might want to replace your fuel filter also. It is probably more important to do than the FPR!

    Thumbs up

Nice write up, you should be working for one of the repair manual publishers.

Was there much particulate matter in the FPR screen upon dis-assembly ?

Nice write-up. the tips to cut the hex key, and replace the bolt were particularly nice touches, that a do-it-yourselfer would have struggled with. A trip to the Snap-on truck (or Sears) will get you a "Gearwrench" brand ratchet box wrench, with 50 or 60 assorted bits (hex, torx, security torx, square drive etc.etc.) for just such situations....about 45 bucks at Sears. One of those tools you can't do without once you use it. Wayne

HAHA! Nice... you just need to make a few more write-ups like this and you might pass the credibility test!

    haha..i completely missed this thread!

I was banging my head in frustration at the very same day of this first post...stuck for weeks on getting that rear bolt out! lesson learned: don't be away from vx.info for more than a few hours at a time!

I checked the MPG yesterday on a fill up and it went UP to 15.8!

I was running about 14.5 - 14.8 MPG so I'm very pleased. Low end throttle feels much more responsive too.

Try an electric fan conversion and get another 0.1% increase in throttle response. LOL

Sorry Zeus - told you it was chronic.
