I think you completely missed the point. The reason he knows that no one knows the "truth" is because you can not know something that is unprovable. The very definition of faith is belief without proof. So you can have faith, you can believe, but you can not know. You might even be right in your faith, but you can't prove it so you can't know you are right.

Exactly, WyrreJ. I have no FAITH in anything man-made. God is a concept concieved by man and the bible was written by people. I believe that the bible is a series of stories designed to help guide people through life, and help them understand things that were at one time (and in some cases still) not understood. Nothing more.

And if there is a higher power, or some sort of force swaying things back and forth, then it is something that NO ONE on earth can identify. It is something we cannot even imagine or even begin to explain. For a person, or a group of people to believe that they in fact CAN explain it, is either utterly pompous, or stupidly insane. Only in death may the real meaning of life become apparent, but then again, we might just turn into soulless dust...

In order to say: "No one is right. No one is wrong." logically you yourself would have to have perfect knowledge of what is right and wrong to say this with finality, and I don't think you would say that at all.

Like WyrreJ said above, I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I am saying exactly the opposite. NO ONE has a perfect knowledge of ANYTHING!

I am sorry this is so long, and thanks to any who actually read this. I respect all of your points of view and all of your amazing senses of humor, I hope that this made you think in some way and I really do care about all of you and I hope and pray that you all find happiness and hope in some belief, because we all have beliefs and trust in something or someone whether we know it or not.

The only thing I believe in is nature. It is the only "God" I will ever "Pray" to, because it is this planet that gives us life. Not Jesus, not George W., not Allah and not money. Its water and sunshine and apples. We are all just animals. I know you religious people will scoff at that, but that is what I think. All of the "emotions" that make us human, are just extensions of our animal instincts. Everything we do is based on instinct, but because we have free will and a moderate amount of contemplative intelligence, we have created societies that go against instinct. Everything from religion to sitting in a cubicle is society's way of de-animalizing humanity. When you get right down to it, we are just like every other four legged creature on earth. We KILL, FCUK, and EAT. That is how we survive, except with layers and layers and layers of bullsh1t on top to disguise and sugar coat what we are REALLY doing. And THAT is all I was trying to say, but in a much nicer way.

PS - On the "Secular humanism" concept, why are we always labeling eachother? Must everyone fit perfectly into some man-made mold? Must we all be dyed in the wool Republicans? Or dyed in the wool Social Darwinists? Or dyed in the wool Satanists? Or dyed in the wool Liberals? No two people see life exactly the same way, so lets leave the labeling to Coke and Pepsi.
