Just wanted to see what everybody has done to their VX stereos. Cant decide if I want to totally upgrade (meaning aftermarket) or just keep the original with a couple of amps and a woofer box.

lots of folks have upgraded audio in their vx's - with really great ideas/successful results. i hope they pipe up and share pix so you get a good variety of ideas...

If interested in a more moderate "middle of the road" system, check my gallery for pics...nuthin too fancy, just a new HU, 5 channel amp & some new speakers.
Spent under a grand by shopping around, getting lucky finding returned items/close out sales @ best buy & ebay.
Take your time & get the amp you want, then get speakers of the correct wattage/ohm rating. Do a lot of research & listen to as many different brands/models as possible.
It stays clear at volumes that make my ears ring...but won't cause involuntary urination like Bijus system.

He is makin me one right now and I can't wait to chuck that donut spare! Just installed an alpine CDA-9887 for a head unit and when I save up some moe money I am gonna gut/dynamat/replace stock speakers. Just upgrading to a better head unit made a world of difference, and I can't wait to listen to it with a little more "punch"! I just hope my stock speakers don't blow before I get my sub in there

Yeah my driver front is blown. IRRITATING!!!He is makin me one right now and I can't wait to chuck that donut spare!
