HA...speak for your own bad smelling engine... mine has the smell of rose petals with just a hint of lilac & magnolia blossoms at idle.

OK, seriously...I've noticed no difference in cabin smellocity since doing this, but, by comparison, I am a few years older than most around here & have been a smoker most of my life...so it stands to reason that I may not notice as much.

BUT...on the other side of the coin, I'll be all over any fuel leak that may occur !

I'm thinking about going down this route with that C/F hood I picked up last December. The scoop is a perfect location to do open air filter with a heat shield mod. plus the exhaust vents in the center...I just need to figure out how to keep the rain out... not that it rains in Vegas!!! (actually rained the past week)...

With the VX an off center scoop looks nice in my opinion...

I like mine quite well though it serves no purpose but cosmetic at the moment, i have planned on cutting a hole under it to make it do what it looks like its doing lol that sounds funny

while all these look very cool I am planning a transmission cooler instead of a scoop. I just can't bear to give my VX unnecesary cosmetic surgery

im with u circmand... i dont think i could cut up my hood... the scoop is for my buddy's jeep cherokee... he was gonna come offroading at the next vx meet but when he sits idle his wt regularly hits 250+ and underhood temps (intake temp) gets up over 200... no place to put an extra fan.. so he wanted to try a cowl scoop to let the air out

I am running induction with the C/F WRX style scoop. Something I noticed after putting the S/C in is, the lower cabin where driver and passenger side legs rest gets pretty toasty. I dont think the induction cools anything at all because the cool air blown in has no place to go, so it just warms up and starys there, heating up everything around it. Unsure of the exact technicalities involved though. I thought about putting the OEM insert back on to see what difference that makes. If anything, the pic of the VX desert crawler above shows something that may be more operational. Though it looks like the induction there vacuums to the air filter, something similar that can pull in air to cool and then an extraction (like the pic and possibly something like the EVO hood has), MAY draw out the warmed air.

I have a few kits I bought to fab up and test out that ill test a dual induction/extraction but I have yet to get to work on it. If it works out, I will be more than happy to share. Anything to get rid of the "hot legs" complex in the VX now.
