Questions:

1) Has anyone modified their air filter box for a K&N so that it draws air from the wheel well area like the stock setup does? If so, please show pics or let me know where you got yours.

2) Has anyone else had a starting problem after getting S/C'd? If so, what was the problem and how did you fix it?

1) You could opt for a "drop-in" K&N filter available from Advance Auto to put in your OEM air filter box...or you might want to check out Ldub's setup.

2) I did some time after my install and it turned out to be the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Apparently the dealership I had do the install crushed the little black o-ring at the bottom of the regulator when they installed it into the SC fuel rail (regulator housing/body/?)

Tone actually helped installed my S/C and it starts up everytime, no noise at idle and in fact, idles extremely smooth. I do have a cone K/N filter. Just take your VX to any performance shop and they can easily fab an intake tube to use with your choice of K/N filter.

I'm in agreement on the FPR being the cause of your starting problems...same symptoms mine displayed before it was replaced.
It was under warranty at that time, & the tech indicated it wasn't an unusual problem with our particular engine.(that was before s/c)

Ahh... the FPR is likely causing the starting problem. Ok, thanks! I will have them see what they messed up on it and feex-feex.

You can use this K&N Air Filter (33-2064) in your stock airbox. They're stupidly expensive, and they always seem to be a special order part. Or, they're about $50 online.

Congrats! Passing on a highway is no longer gonna be an a55dragging experience.

The EGR routing I was speaking of basically sends the existing fuel line BEHIND the bracket that rests behind the EGR itself. This put it back far enough so it wasnt resting near the EGR and EGR line, which gets pretty hot. If a knowledgeable mechanic did the install, I am SURE he had this in mind.
