Thanks guys... 29 hours this weekend (no life until project is finished). my fingers are dry, cracked, and my back/feet are sore!... alas, I have (thus far) all digits still attached. (Sorry dub. that hook hand might not happen!)

lots of progress made, yet so far to go. the details... so many details.

what you see at the bottom of pic #2 is a plexi window (1" thick plexi!). Inside enclosure will be red lighting controlled by an OEM fog switch. boxes are shown with a test fit for the subs.

    just gotta keep pluggin' away...

After your "bad to the bone" build experience on the last attempt, I can't blame you for being a little more careful.
While a really sharp-n-shiny hook would look really sweet & be in keeping with your "ultra-pirate" persona, I'd rather you be pain free, able to count to ten & ready to wheel !

been doin' a lot of ^ lately. need more freaking time before moab. grrrrrr...

(tick. tick. tick. tick. tick. tick...)

seriously, i'll give a non-pictoral update. (no pix until after moab!...)

    DONE:
    • the big 3
    • h/o alternator
    • sound proofing
    • rca's run
    • speaker cable run
    • security system
    • neon cables run
    • head unit
    • bbe processor
    • oem fog switches for neon
    • firewall grommets
    • 2/0ga power ground run
    • sub enclosures
    • custom battery tray
    • custom xover/eq mount
    • custom ddc controller mount
    • front tweets
    • front mids
    • front midbass

every single item above has been a battle. consumed more time than it should have. and required several trips to the store (hardware, etc.) eventho i tried to have everything already handy.

i refuse to do a shoddy job, or throw stuff together - which has made this incredibly difficult for me. the details are enough to drive me mad, but nothing a few xanax won't help. details, details, details... every step of the way.

what's left is the custom amp rack, wiring (hooking components up), and final beauty (cover/vinyl) boards in some areas... i have 13 days left to make this puppy work before moab. we'll see....

(p.s. - i purchased equip to provide rear fill mids/tweets/midbass. at this time i'm wiring it up, but won't have time to do the custom work to complete the rear fill before zu. that phase i'll tackle after moab. essentially, to make this work something had to give. rear fill got the chop. for now...)

    Dude,

Ditch the zanax & git yerself some kickin' amphetamines down to the local truck stop !
Then you can work that bad boy 24/7 till it ROCKS !

I can't wait a whole nuther year to hear the completed project.
Oh wait, what am I saying, you'll have a red VX by then & be installing a recording studio.

i promise - you won't have to wait a whole year to hear the radio. but only AM radio.

something tells me what i DO show up with won't disappoint.

    teaser...

with security completely in place (only missing flame thrower. ha!) i feel safer sharing my set-up. give me a chance to clean her up from moab, and i'll snap some results pix and post here by the weekend...

although not completely done (still need to install the rear fill system) i'm pretty happy with the results. however, she's DONE until many many months from now when i get enough energy to pick up the project again.
