You crazy mofos.
It's easy to get the VX a hair over 90 mph, maybe on a long boring stretch of road in Wyoming. Because you want to get across Wyoming as quickly as possible.
But frankly, the main consideration when driving a VX is not MPH but rather MPG...and above 65 or 70 MPH, your effective MPG drops considerably.
Having said that...back when I was 20, and immortal...I DID get a couple of my RX-7s up around 130 on various stretches of I-5 on the way to LA.
One time my buddy and I were cruising along at around 90 MPH when a couple of cute chicks in a Toyota Supra drove up next to us and yelled "Is that as fast as you can go?!?".
So I did the intelligent thing and raced them. They dropped out at around 115 MPH, so I pulled ahead fo a mile or two...then slowed down so we could both pull off and exchange phone numbers. As I recall, the four of us ended up at some dive bar in Newport Beach a few nights later...
