    Progress, albeit slow

So I ordered a new pair of side marker assemblies to send in to Klearz, and now they're telling me that to seperate the lens from the lens backing (which they have offered to do) it will compromise one or the other.
So, they need an additional pair to replicate a "quality" product.
The place that I ordered the first pair from does not have the lens seperate from the backside, I would have to order another pair.
So, does anyone know where to get either the lenses themselves, or the back, "lens housing" plastic part seperate from the lens before I have to buy another pair that will go to no use once they're molded and mailed back to me?
Or does anyone have these pieces that they are willing to LEND?

On a more positive note, they are ready to start their next project in the next two weeks. I was advised that besides this request, they have one other one that they're waiting on to begin. If I can get them a second pair of lenses by next week...they can start on these first.

I sent the pair I had in to them, so if they're not sure what they're talking about based off the pics I emailed them, we'll find out when they receive them next week.

    Cy,

Thank you very much for working on this for everyone. I don't have any to spare but if there is anything else I can do to help please let me know.

I'm still interested in 1 pair, likely 2 pair if the price is not to bad.

I can't wait for them!! wooohoooo!!!

How much is a pair (oem) going for? I'm sure some of us can pitch in several bucks towards another pair to send in by next week, with the amount of interested VXers.

    What do you all think?

Eh, that's not neccessary but thanks, really.
I'm thinking of just taking mine off to send in.
I really started this thread a lot earlier than I probably should have.

The first pair cost $50, and If I have to get a 2nd, I'd probably try to weasel them for 1 free set out of the whole bunch, ya know...for bringing them business.
    think it would work?

    Update

So I sent in a pair of lenses for them to look at, and today I heard back from them. They'll need yet another set to complete the mold process so I'll have to find one to send in, but...

They gave me a preliminary price that they foresee a pair costing, and the magic # is:

    $75

They mentioned that that is with a white housing. They said for $5 more, they can color the housing. I'm not sure if that would matter, would it?

I don't think that's too bad a price, but I do want to ask them for a much better deal for people that want 2 sets. And it would be nice to have shipping included for $75.

    Let's hear some thoughts.

    Well there they are!
I hope they are worth the wait.

I need to get another response from them to find out how payments, shipping, etc. will work.
    What do you guys think?

Hmm, my initial thoughts are, what adhesive are they using, what is the life of that plastic housing (just how brittle are they?), and is the adhesive/seal gonna be cleaner looking than what is pictured?

In my experience with many aftermarket lights I have had for all of my cars, they tend to be climate dependent. Cold, cool, warm, and hot weather have different reactions to plastic.... so that is my main concern. I have had some haze over, crack, and even dry rot in less than a year. If we cant get a guarentee on product replacement, it would be nice to at least be able to get a "this is what you can expect" in case we have to switch them out with an OEM set for certain seasons.

    Just some thoughts....

    Worm-
I forwarded your concerns to them and here is the response I got:

" As far as the quality of our product, let me say this:

We have been in production for 2 years and we have not had anyone come back and tell us they had problems with their lenses.
The plastic we use is uv resistant so it wll not yellow in the sun.
We use clear epoxy to bond the lenses to the housings and have had no report of failure to date.
In the begining we did have issues with some lenses not being 100$ sealed and foging, but we have since resolved that issue.

The lenses in the pictures are not perfect, the edges will be alot cleaner in the products we ship out,
but you can still see the epoxy in the lens, its a clear lens, you are going to see whatever is in there. no way around it.

Its worth mentioning that this product is hand made, so it might not always be 100% perfect, but we only send out quality product."
