yea as far as i can tell there is no way to seperate the housing from the lens except to bake them to melt the glue then glue the new one back on.. which would not be fun/ im sure would lead to many problems

    Well now...

After that info, I may be in if the complete assembly is 100 or less.

These were my feelings exactly. For ~$50 though I was willing to try them out blind. I asked and they said they didn't really have samples to send out, but maybe they can send out a single lens, a throwaway maybe, as collateral when we send our pair in for the mold. Then they can get an idea of the price, and we can get an idea of the quality. I'll ask.

I think that it could be a cool product, and I certainly hope it all works out. Again, thanks for taking point on this!
No harm, I didn't take it the wrong way.
I am beginning to feel the frustration of perhaps letting the cat out of the bag on this one when I missed an important factor or two!

Cool. Thanks for doing the work on this. I am sure everyone appreciates it, whether it works out or not.

So where does this stand now?

Tax dollars deposited in the account and looking to blow.... and the WRX is REALLY hungry. I don't want to feed it all to her, but the temptation is there.

    Update

    OK...
between starting a (very time-consuming) new job and having company for a week, I feel like I haven't checked this thing in a month.
    Anyway,
Klearz is ready for us to send in the OEMs for a mold, unfortunately, as some have brought to our attention, it appears as if we need to have the housings replicated as well. Or has anyone else proved otherwise?
I don't know if this cancels anyone's previous interest or not.
I would like to get them a pair of OEMs so that we can get a more accurate estimate for continuing further.
Where I will get a pair of housings to send them I don't have a clue?

    A pair of "housings"?

    What mean you?

You don't mean the bulb harness do you?

I don't see why they need any more than the lense assembly, and that is a pretty simple thing.... amber lense glued to plastic backing. I would consider those 2 mesh pieces the "housing".... 'splain please!

Thank you for going through the trouble of getting this project rolling. Very nice.

The way they made it sound, I was thinking that they need them seperated to create the molds. Would they, or just one mold of the "assembly"?

I say, just send them the lenses. They're a large company, Im assuming that if they want to mass produce them and make some money, they can work it and get it done. Just my 2 cents.

    Clear Lenses

I was wondering how this project was coming along. I'm still VERY interested in 2 sets of clear lenses (with or w/out housing).

    I'll check back.

I'm very eager to have those things on the side either clear or smoked.
