Use an impact driver with the bit in an impact socket - manual drivers are less than $20 these days.

i too had a hell of a time removing the bolts....i ended up pushing against a 2' breaker with all my weight, and have a friend turn it, it loosened up and finsihed the rest of teh job with a 1/2".
btw the bolt looses ccw
Using a breaker bar ended up working. I ended up pushing on it with my weight while my wife hung from the bar. Took about 7-8 1/8th turns before it was loose enough to use the drill w/the bit.
Thanks for the advice.
Cool, glad it worked...and glad the wife helped, I let my wife help with the fencing today and somehow she hit herself in the forehead with the post hole digger.![]()
