I pick up my Mobil1 at Walmart whenever it goes on sale, which recently has been fairly often. It's usually about $19 and some change ($19.28 sounds right) plus tax.

Yup, that's where I get my jugs too. I use a Mobile-1 oil filter also. About the air filter though, I have been using Fram because thats all I can find for the VX. Aside from you modded guys, who has a stock airbox and what brand air filter do you prefer?

ive got my airbox (minus the elbow.. but with an aluminum mesh 'bubble' in its place to keep leaves and crap out) ive got the drop in filter from tone (greeen perfomance) im very happy with it, gotta clean/recharge it soon, so gotta order the kit for $12.. ive heard good things about K&N drop ins but have no experience with them

I've got the Calmini cone filter kit, with an upgraded filter. When I installed it, there was a noticable difference in "perceived" power (I haven't had it on a dyno). If you're going to upgrade, I believe the cone style filters provide a lot more air flow than the stock setup, although it's debatable whether the cooler air from the wheel well is more effective. The mouting kits are cheap, and probably still available on e-bay. It would go really well with one of those green filters from Tone.
No experience with stock replacement solutions here, sorry.
Is that said in a Beavis voice or a Butt-head voice?Originally Posted by kpaske
