Need help from the someone who has done JDM steering wheel swap

Ok, so far my searches on this site have turned up info that is fleeting at best--regarding the JDM steering-wheel swap. Nearly all the pics are gone (too old) so I don't have much to compare to.

My VX stock wheel has a MALE connector on the airbag. The JDM airbag has a FEMALE connector. I'd consider getting a spare connector and splicing it on, but before I do that--I'd need to have confirmation on polarity--so I don't blow the thing up.

Alternately, does anyone have a Clockspring off a JDM that they can part with? I have a suspicion that this might solve the problem also.
