I did many of the creature models and animations.
I would love to offer copies to everyone here, alas, I dont even get a copy until it ships. This is our biggest, most anticipated game to date and pre-orders are going through the roof all around the world. I could give you rough pre-sales numbers, but then I would have to kill you. ;)
Could be a shortage when it comes out, much like the 360. I hope so anyways.
I can't remember where I heard or read it but this is supposed to be one of the most highly anticipated games in a while. Congratulations! Though I have to admit I have no idea what kind of game it is...guess I'll just have to wait until I can download it through a torrent site...just kidding. :angel: I wish I had the time to play games. I am sure being GOLD is such a relief, and your schedule can get back to normal. For me, I've been waiting to get a 360, and Oblivion was one of the reasons for the wait. Now I just gotta find a 360 somewhere.
Are all versions shipping on the 20th or just the 360 version? I've been getting bored with WOW lately and might pick this one up. Grats bro.

360 and PC are shipping "same time". That was one reason for the slight delay as we wanted both tested thoroughly so they could ship simultaneously.
Now.... to find a nice little place to take a vacation. I am thinking sleeping in my bed for a full week and keeping money in my pocket is a GREAT idea!
My friend who does the facial animation systems is gearing up for GDC. He's apparently giving a presentation out there on his software.
He used to work for a game company and the weeks leading up to the release date were always 52+ hour shifts he said. Meaning he'd work for 52 hours straight before he slept. And when he woke up, he was already in his office so he could pickup where he left off 4 hours prior.
Insane.
Yep, thats how its done. Its not an easy job, but its fun. ;)
honestly his new setup is awesome. He still works a lot more than I do, but not marathon sessions. Since he's "his own boss" he doesn't have to promise any outlandish timelines to any publisher and try to live up to them. And his technology is just really damn cool. Realtime voice input to any 3d facial structure lipsynching and expressions.
haha sorry...i dont mean to be an ***..but is this game an online mmrpg? or what? sorry i havent played any since shadowbane because i got so dissapointed from that game...although i would love to try a new one...probably this one if thats what it is...thanks
Correct me if I'm wrong but the Elder Scrolls games are single player (non MMORPG) Role play games.
They are about as close as you can get to a true RPG on a computer as you can get, where character development is more important than picking up the next cool magic item.
4 years is NOTHING.

While I've got the soapbox..... I'm wondering how publishers can put up with shoddy game writing for so long. There are numerous examples, but most recently, the fiasco created by EA's latest 1.2 patch of Battlefield 2. It set off to address some of the "wrongs" in the previous version, and created a whole slew of new problems in the process. Not just gameplay balance issues, but technical "stuff that should have been definitely caught in playtesting" bugs that detract from the overall playability of the game.
Mind you that this 1.2 patch had been in the works for the better part of three months.
So what happens? TWO DAYS after the patch is released to the public, EA/DICE promise to release a new patch, 1.21. Everyone thinks it will be a quick turnaround, because lord knows they screwed the pooch on the first attempt. The patch was announced on Feb 20th with the usual spin doctoring "there are additional issues that were found and we are working quickly to resolve them."
In my industry, if we released deliverables to PAYING CLIENTS that were this crappy, we wouldn't be in business. Whoever is in charge of quality control over there should be ****canned, and the programmers all put in a room and not allowed to leave until they fix their crappy code that they put out before.

Yup, if we didn't there wouldn't be a Max Payne 1 or 2. Or a soon to be released Prey for that matter.

Cyrk, they are identical. Same assets all the way through. The only way you will see a differemce is if you are on a 360 with an analog tv. It's only worth it on 360 if you are HD capable.

Yeah, so at Ion Storm, were you part of the party when someone rewrote the code to the missile launcher in Daikatana to make it shoot backwards. Then JR shot it, blew himself up and got so pissed off he flung his monitor with his little yellow ferrari model on the floor and fired the intern that thought it would be funny to do it? :P

I was talking about Duke concerning the lengthy time. No clue you did time at Ion. That would also explain the time frame. We aquired some ex Ions in the past couple of years. Emil Pagliarulio and Mark Lampert. We have some others but they are more on the producer/marketing side.
Concerning George, I wasnt sure you were working on Prey or Duke. If I am correct, George is on Duke I believe (correct me if I am wrong, I am sure you will). In that case, It;s simply fun to blame George for "anything". Bitter and cynical.... that's what makes George fun. ;)
Those that poke John Romero don't really know John, I agree. He is pretty arrogant, but, he has always backed it up. You can't point Daikatana at him, especially since EVERY developer has their sack of !@#$all titles. I have a few I would love to sweep under the carpet. I wish John the best this MMO he has planned out. Could be his vessel to get back into the thick of things. It was nice back in the day when John was always around to stir things up. Made things.... fun.

Ya, thats been a huge complaint for many of our games now. All I can say is, maybe one day.... especially with with the physics now. ;)
Glad you are enjoying it. I am FINALLY able to sit down at home and play it like a normal person and I too am enjoying it.
