I just received my "MOMO" stuff today and just finished adding it to my VX's interior!

Now if we can only get the Speedhut group buy to fly I'll be on my way to customizing my VX!

I saw that cell phone holder here in town at a shop called Racin'X and thought it was pretty nifty too. :-) And it's the neatest feeling to walk into a shop like that which sells Recaro seats and know I have some that look better than them and they're stock.

My only concern was that I thought the Momo stuff I've seen didn't match the interior close enough, but yours seems to be pretty close.

Speaking of shifter knobs and such, I once saw one that looked like a hand and you "shook hands" with it when you shifted. Pretty cool looking... anyone seen these or know where to find them?

I bought a set of these pedals. DO NOT BUY THEM FOR THE VX.

They suck... badly.

The break pedal is WAYYYY too big and interferes with the gas pedal cover if you have both on and there's no way to adjust them so they don't.. they are just so big that even at their farthest to the left and right they still contact each other... so when you go to stop, it hits the gas.

You can BARELY use the brake pedal w/o the gas pedal cover... and it looks ok, but not that great.

What model of Momo pedals are those?

I don't think so. Can't take credit for it. No siree. Absolutely not. Someone else found the site and I merely commented about it (gauges that is). The thought of recommending that to someone else makes me ill. Bleah... The last thing I would ever do to a VX.

*warning...they give you measurements in the instructions as to the distance between brake pad and gas pedal so you don't mount them too close. I did have to shift my brake pedal pad to the far left when mounting to achieve the desired distance. I'm happy with how it turned out!

did you have to do any drilling or anything with the momo pedals, or did they fit as intended? I had been thinking about getting a set, but i know that sometimes you have to drill for those things, and i didn't want to do something that permanent!

The ones that require you to drill are the ones that work the best. Clip on pedals are only for looks and aren't suited for everyday use.

Yep...Paul is right...I have the "clip-on's" on my Fiero and they took alot of "fussing" with to get dependable...and even then they could come loose. The drilled and mounted are the way to go!

As far as the drilling goes...I mounted my brake pedal as I said earlier (after measuring from gas pedal) as far as possible to the left and actually let the top left hole dictate this as I only drilled 3 holes into the pedal and used a cone washer with rubber backing on the 4th (left-bottom) hole as a "clip". The pedal was very tight even without the 4th hole...but for extra insurance I attached the "washer-as-clip" and tightened down the screw thereby pinching the pedal assembly between the washer and MOMO pad.

If you look at the brake pedal using the larger photo you can see some of the outline of the left side of the metal O.E.M. brake pedal through the holes of the MOMO pad and see that it just misses the left bottom hole. If you center the pad onto the pedal it will be too close to the gas pedal.

The gas pedal only has 2 holes to drill...and if you center the pad
onto the O.E.M. pad the holes will narrowly miss interfering with reinstallation onto pedal rod. I used a vise to hold the MOMO pad onto the O.E.M. pad and made sure it was centered before
drilling. Hope this doesn't scare anyone off...it really wasn't hard
to do. I'm a locomotive assembler by trade...lol...always making stuff that doesn't quite fit as directed appear seamless in design!

If you ever want to go back to stock setup the O.E.M. rubber pad will easily go back onto the pedal and cover up the 3 very small holes....no one will ever know the wiser! The gas pedal would either be reused with two small holes in it or cover up/fill in
the holes or replace the plastic pedal!

Well, I finally got my OBX TOMCAT shifter that I ordered...took about 15 days to get from abtivan.com

I ordered the red/carbon shifter...disappointed that the red isn't the same shade as portrayed on the the various websites ;eekr; ...more like a mooroon/red ;oop; (actually had to check the spelling of mooroon...seemed wrong! :laughp: lol.)

So I've decided (and already finished) carefully disassembling the shifter for painting...just got to decide on what shade of red to go with. My shifter plates I'm buying from Ron should match the VX red door panels...So I should either match them or the MOMO low range shifter I already have installed. Probably the latter. :coolr:

I figure I'll go ahead and institute the fix I read about on other posts about Razo's vibrating..as it seems the OBX will do the same before I've even installed it. Figure I'll hit Home Depot today or tomorrow for the following:

A package of 3/32" Dia. Heat Shrink Tubing cut pieces. This is to put over the spring and hit with a heat source to cover it and keep it from vibrating against the inside of the shifter. After that, I'll put some 100% silicon grease in for good measure.
Probably going to clear rtv silicone the overdrive button and not use it...Wormgod and others say theirs rattles and the OBX appears to be same in design. Wouldn't mind hooking up the wires to SOMETHING if I can think of anything! :wtfr:

Also plan to locate the following from Home Depot:
6-pound tension spring from Home Depot (part #SP-9706) Just to increase the force over the stock spring on our shifters..as mentioned in the Grant Eaton fix.

On the upside...this shifter gives you a black rubber shaft cover that you cut to length...so I shouldn't have to either paint or black electrical tape the round shifter lever on the VX after the chrome square tube is removed.

All done for now...just wait'in for my shifter plates from Ron. The OBX Tomcat A/T OD shifter installs just as the RAZO shifters of the the same type. I painted mine with red/black "rubberized" paint from Lowes. Figured it would be durable and give a nice grip to the shifter. Very happy with how it turned out! I put shrink-wrap on the spring in the shifter along with silicone grease and it is dead quiet! Glad I read the fix here at Vehicross.info! I just put silicone grease in the OD button instead of RTV and tie-wrapped the wires under the console for possible future use....machine guns anyone? :naughty:

I couldn't get Home Depot to help me out with the spring from the Grant Eaton fix. They were of no help to me. They only had extension springs in stock...no compression springs. I gave them the part #SP-9706 and they said that they only order what is on the shelf....go figure. I tried the spring manufacturers website (Prime Line "HandyMan" Springs) but they only list Home Depot, Lowes, Sears as retailers for their products. The Lowes in Erie, PA carries another brand of springs, Haven't tried Sears. My shifter is working good with the original spring so far...the key releases as it should.

I finally decided to give the dash and console a bit of "spiffing-up". I've always thought about painting the dash trim red from it's stock silver/gray appearance in order to complement the red/black seats and door panels.
