For those that have the Rock Road sliders, do the bolts to the frame go all the way through or do you tap the frame and bolt to it? Also, would anyone mind taking a few measurements for me? I'm fabbing my own and am using some design cues from them.

They go through. I have the Stric9's and they are welded on.
I would also recomend sleeving the holes if you have the ability
Ummm, not they do not go through. You drill out a hole, and it comes with self tapping bolts that fit very snugly, not all the way through the frame.Quote:

haha I'm gonna have a set of 58" long Trail Gear sliders at my house in the next week or so (payment from John for doing the MUA5 swap in his Amigo Chris. Which btw showed up today, that f'er was heavy pulling out of the back of a semi, over 300lbs including crate lol). I'll do a little write up on using them and welding them on. I used the long trail gear ones on my 97' Rodeo and I sectioned the middle to shorten them and sleeved them. They were on sale and I liked the 4 cross bar look over the 3, turned out great:

Could someone with the Rocky Road sliders please measure the mounting plates to the frame and get me the dimensions? Would be a massive help. Need FR, RR, FL, RL. Going to make them out of .250 flat stock.

Does anyone know the bolt sizes and thread pitch, as well as drill bit size, for mounting these to the frame and pinch weld?
IIRC, they are the same bolts that the skid plate uses, just check on Isuzuparts.com. The ones from Rocky road came with some big self tapping bolts, just drilled out like a 5/8 hole and then the drove the bolts in with an impact wrench.Quote:

Here are some pics before I mounted them to the VX and a couple on. These are all the driver's side slider. Pass is 95% the same, the mounts were just a smidge different. Final pics are coming after I wash off all the shop grime. I'll get up better pics and some details in the next few days.

That turned out great! Any pics of your mounting underneath?
I've been thinking about the Indy4x sliders for my Trooper. So, if you weld them on, doesn't that compromise the frame's integrity? I always thought you shouldn't weld to the frame. I would think bolting would be better, but I don't know really...

Welding correctly shouldn't hurt the frame at all, especially in that area. It's been awhile since I was under a 1st gen but I'm pretty sure the frame is "boxed" in that area anyways, and if it wasn't you could always do that if your worried about it. I myself have never been a fan of bolt on things like that. I know Chris loves his and they have worked great bolted on for him. My experience has come with subframe connectors on alot of fast cars, the bolt on versions tend to oval out the holes over time and become loose after alot of hard launches. Alot of times people would buy the bolt-on ones and tac weld the bolts in place (why go through the work of drilling holes if your going to basically weld anyways) or just completely bolt them on AND weld them which works too. When I did the sliders on my Rodeo I welded them on.
Yeah, bolting and welding would probably be the best. And yeah, its boxed in under there so you would need to drill through and use a LOOOOOONG bolt.
I think I need them, since last time I went wheeling I came very close to smashing the hell outta the side of my Trooper on a big rock that I didn't see buried in a bush. I rolled over it and the top of the rock was literally a half inch from the bottom rocker. Rocks don't give.
