SO, did you have the cleanest undercarriage in the parking lot this time?:)
Of course yours would of been the easiest to see
Wow, you are allowed to gather.... anywhere.... at all? Here, more than 2 people with 2 cars and cops are all over ya. You are CLEARLY up to no good. We did something similar here at a local Starbucks on Sun mornings "with" the backing of the Starbucks, and the cops didn't care. Even had an open AWD meet at Dave and Busters every other Thurs night (with their backing) and that too was squashed. Move along, there is no reason to be here. They just do NOT like car gatherings.... suppose they think it incites speed contesting. No matter, there are always a few assclowns in every crowd, so it is what it is.
I want a badge too. Then I too can gain back all that lost pride and honor from when I was bullied and picked on in high school.
As far as I know it's completely against law to force a citizen not to be at certain place just because the cops don't like the idea.is public area.
Actually the shop has all the right to ask the cops to leave the premises if they presense wasn't requested because it's private property & there's no illegal activities going on.
Rick,i love the pics man.very nice looking rigs out there.
Once again Rick your rig stands proudly amongst the exotics, 50s, muscle cars, new etc...you're right there with 'em (and above them in most cases....literally) !
You do realize you still live in the USA right? No offense, but I just can't believe there are people out there that won't stand up for their rights. Tell them you are staging a peaceful protest against all the boring cars on the road. Like Gussie said, they can't say crap if there are no complaints and you aren't doing anything illegal. You weren't even loitering if the business was fine with it. Couldn't you call the chief of police or someone and report stuff like this. Where I come from if you get an elected official on your side they tend to listen since they see you and your friends as the people who keep them in office. I respect the law to the utmost, but I also expect the law to respect my rights. Also, to stay on topic, I love the idea of Cars and Coffee!!! Two of my favorite things in the world together at last. I need to get something like that started up here!!! I wish I was closer to Irvine!!Quote:

Police officers don't have the luxury to base any police proceedure on presumptions, scott can collaborate that as law enforcement officer.
The fact that few guys gather at one place to socialize give no PD legal grounds to command any citizen to "move along" that guys is called HARRASMENT
I don't wanna turn this thread into a public debate about civil rights but common guys, you're smart enough to know that.
Those PD acted like if you guys were living in cuba where public gathering are forbidden & private property rights doesn't exist at all.
I guess it depends on whether you've got the time to spend the night in jail.
That's right, call me a cynic. ;)
I'd love to spend a night in jail for that, because afterwards I'd be sleeping soundly on a giant pile of money since I'd sue the city to the ground. All you'd have to do is use your one phone call to the media and it would pretty much take care of itself. It sounds like this mentality isn't just isolated to just one cop or two where wormgod lives since he's been vocal about the absurd law enforcement there in the past. They really need a message sent that good citizens aren't going to stand idly by and take that kind of abuse. I work with law enforcement every day, and the whole gamut too, Sheriffs, Highway patrol, and local officers as well, and by and large they are really cool, and have been nothing if not open minded and fair. I just can't wrap my head around having to live like I'm always looking over my shoulder and second guessing my actions so I won't get in trouble.

RIP Viper. It wrecked on its way home that day. Link [/quote
It's sad to see an rig like this going down..........:(
We had car show at the local high school this weekend as a fundraiser for project GRAD which is a program where they have bands and activities on graduation night all night until the next morning so the kids have somewhere to go with no drugs and alcohol be safe and not on the roads My sons a senior so we showed the VXs They drew lots of attention from everyone His friends said his Ironman was "sick" I'm going to try to show pics I'm notto good on this thinghttp://www.vehicross.info/gallery/da...thumbs/227.JPGhttp://www.vehicross.info/gallery/da...thumbs/207.JPG
Looks like a pretty "sick" FJ behind the Ironman too...
That's a waste of a perfectly good Viper. I know that guy had to feel like carp after that.
Rickshaw, I don't know if anyone has mentioned it so I will. There are some really bad arse cars there, and if there was a perfect VX to represent us in that company, I would say yours is it. It fits in perfectly with that crowd and looks amazing. Thanks for the pics as well. Love to see exotics that I can only dream of owning (or affording).
Sam
Sorry for the mess rick ! :o
Didn't notice the duplication 'till now :(
kona-Vs- thats a great idea...and your guys' VX's look great!
Too bad manufacturers don't produce cars (stylistically) like the Veyron and Jag pictured above for the mainstream public. Those cars are truly works of art.
I was just going to say; I don't care what anyone else says, and yes it's a bit of an odd looking car, but the Veyron is one SEXY beast. I've seen that video in the link before, and every time I watch it it give me chills.
Bugatti and water dont mix....

That 63 split window "Vette" is sweet too. I drove one all summer in 1963. I was 16 years old.
Just to back up a bit to my original comment about gatherings....
Like the above pics with the high priced exotics and clearly older crowd, comparing that to a crowd of 20-35 yr olds w/ primarily import tuners.... dunno that I need to say any more. Ya, cops are gonna be more suspect. Face it, money like that talks.
I am not on any side really. Most of the events we had locally did end up with some clowns acting up and taking their beef to the street. Sadly, it only ever takes a few douche bags to ruin it for the whole bunch. I suspect that other local merchants had some say as well as for getting these events halted. Just cause one merchant welcomes it, the parking lot is still shared. Funny enough, we do know of one in particular that was spiteful. It's a dry cleaner and they went so far as to trying to enforce THEIR rules/laws on the public parking lot. That went over VERY well.... right....
Oh.... I dig the Ferrari plate frame on the Bugatti.
Another of the many advantages of living in LA... if you can deal with the traffic of course. :p
Thanks for sharing! Pics are beautiful!
OK, Cars & Coffee Dallas is now on my list of things to do ASAP! I had no idea there were events outside of CA!
Hey, we just discovered the Cars and Coffee phenomenon out here in Austin, Texas! Leander, actually, about 45 minutes north.
I had the only VX there! My wife brought her '67 VW bus; also the only one there! Both cars were exceedingly popular.
We're definitely going again next month. With cameras...
So Rickshaw, is this still a regular event? I gotta get down there sometime. And how do you get your car in the event? I wish we had something like this here in Reno.
Bart
That's exactly what I was about to ask.
Baby Im just a "Jeepster" fo yo love
Wow, this is the most amazing event ever. I hope there is something similar to this in CO. I wonder why a dealer hasn't jumped on this.
**** ... that's now

Ok, I have to go out and get some stuff for oil change, I'll try and swing by even though it's way north of me.
Great post btw ... this forum continues to impress, obviously I am in company of other car lovers.
Went today (the Irvine one) and met Rickshaw and another VX owner (didn't get his screen name). Wow. I am still dumbfounded by the number of very cool cars there. And my little Dragon got to meet up with one of her cousins!
Great event, and many thanks to Rickshaw for giving me the head's up! I will be back!
For those new to the VX show...and I am sure Ms. Conduct will agree after seeing it...Gene (Rickshaw) has the cleanest VX you will ever see. From the suspension to the roof rack, front to back it is CLEAN...better than showroom. Gene takes great pride in keeping his VX in "concourse" condition. He sets the bar very high. We had a small meet a few years ago while I was in San Diego and Gene and his son stopped a few blocks from the meet place to "freshen up" the VX! Yea, he is THAT guy:yesy::bwgy:
YA GOTTA ADD this story.....Gene has a pic of his waxed undercarriage...you can see his frickin' reflection in the pumpkin as he's taking the pic!...it's probably in his gallery. We are ALL SOOOOOOOO jealous of his clean VX!!!! MsConduct, you now know where the bar is!
Great photos! wish I could of gone. may make the next one and meet some fellow VX'ers.
Yeah, it is amazing. Gene's is a beauty. Seriously put mine to shame. Then again, mine does have some real "mountain dirt" on her, and my hubby says that's kinda cute. Well, tomorrow morning is going to be a bit of a "spa day" for her. Just bought all sorts of cleaning things and plan to put in some time polishing her up.
