Raising Money for Multiple Sclerosis

Hey VX Fam..

I'm registered for a charity cycling event in the beginning of October. It is a bike ride from Philadelphia, PA to Ocean City. I will be doing the 75 mile/1 Day option, riding Saturday October 3rd.

The event is to raise money for the National MS Society. My goal is to raise $300. My team's goal is 75,000. Any donations are greatly appreciated, even donations of your time, you can sign up to be a volunteer for the event as well. The money raised will go to the 11,000 families in the area affected by MS

Way to go etlsport. I have done numerous rides for MS as my cousin suffers from this disease. It is truley one of the worst things to watch someone deteriorate from MS. Good luck on the ride and to your team to make their goal!:thumbup:

Way to go etlsport! :clap: As someone who knows this insidious disease all too well for the past 15 yrs, (In case anyone wondered why I always had a hiking pole with me in Moab.....) I'm always happy to see such support! This is why I love my VX so much...a) I can get in it 'cuz it's lower than big SUVs, and b) it gives me fun & freedom that my legs can't give me anymore!

Way to go etlsport!! Our dealership, Land Rover Miramar, has been the main sponsor since 2006 for our MS Bike ride in Southern California. The MS Society Pacific South Coast Chapter organizes ours and happens on Oct.10-11, 2009. www.biketofinishms.com
It is a great cause and we enjoy the event every year!!

I need to raise money too but you beat me to the punch. I wish you the best and thanks for riding for the cause!!!

wow! thank you to everyone who has donated so far! its awesome to see such good support for a good cause :thumbup:

Just found out that on friday our sponsor is going to match all of the donations received thus far, so anything raised before friday will be doubled ;Db;

:thumbup::dance: Thanks guys! i did reach my goal! the VX.info crew was responsible for over half of the total donations so far:thumbup: you guys and gals are awesome, a huge thank you to everyone who has donated and to the person who kept bumping this thread back to the top for me

I'm still expecting a donation from our sponsor to match what was donated before the 14th

if you are just seeing this, its not too late to donate either, they will be accepted up until "race" day in october

ill definitely keep you guys updated on how everything goes thanks again!

we made it! left about 6.15am.. arrived in ocean city nj a little after noon.. it was a much tougher ride than i was anticipating.. the was a rest stop at the 45 mile mark and i was hurting pulling into there.. but a banana and lots of streching later i was ready to go and made the rest of the trip. one of the women in our group had 4 flat tires! luckily we were prepared for them all so we were back on the road in no time

a big thank you to all who donated and sent well wishes my team raised over $45,000.. the event total raised well over $4 million

Congrats Etlsport!! I just got my "rider packet" today for my 100 mile Bike MS ride next weekend from Irvine, CA to Mission Bay in San Diego.
