Tim Parker at SBC installing metal window brackets
-
looks like he complicated a simple process. Why remove the windows when it can be done in the tracks? Just my 2 cents
-

The only thing i can say if isuzu were more into fixing this window issue in the earlie years many of us wouldn't had to deal with it.
Looking at Mr tim how he performed this job just makes me mad at suzy (isuzu).
Thank god i was able to fix mines with little effort

Her tabs were not broken ! She was getting ahead of the game and replacing them before she needed too. So basically the extra 3 seconds to pull the glass up and out made things easier on me.

Okay Tim. I didn't know. When I did the mod with the brackets you made which are GREAT, I justlowered the window down far enough to see the plastic tabs which were not broken, took a piece of duct tape on the outside of the glass and over the top of the door to support it, unbolted, flat tip screw stick to bust the tabs, some epoxy in the channel of the new bracket, slipped on the glass, lined up the bolts while epoxy was still wet, removed tape, ran window up and left it for 24 hours. Year, or the best part later, haven't looked back
'bob's your uncle'
crotchrocket can explain that one to you

I removed the window too... it's literally a 3 second process... Just a weird angle and it's out... I used Contractors grade Hot Glue... Haven't had a problem since...
It was the very very first thing I did to my VX... as the window tab broke 2 minutes after I bought the VX... got home, got online (here) found out about the brackets... ordered them, installed them in the driver's side (haven't done passenger yet) in less than 30 minutes...

I drove down to his shop, about 100 miles away, in the Eastern part of Phoenix, and he installed them there.

Brackets definately add stability add give some adjustment.

Just got my brackets today, dang that was some fast shipping!
Now being all-thumbs, and very few tools, I hope installing them is as easy as everyone is saying.
The gallery indicates a dremel tool was needed to remove the old tabs? Is that correct?
-

-
If ya get stuck..call me.
I've done two cars (four windows)..
First one will take you 1 1/2 hours..second window.about 40 mins!

I just used my little air grinder there cause i have one and it made quick work of it! You can get them off with a razor scraper, and if your tabs are already broken then it will be real easy to remove them.

:ot::hj: Looks like you've upgraded your equipment since our camping trip! Cool video's. You should check out the Canyon del Oro river on the Gap trail. A lot of local prospectors go out there and there are quite a few posted claims out there.

I posted videos of the Window Fixin' Party on my Youtube channel.
It really is as easy as it sounds, however, installing the brackets alone doesn't always fix the problem. You may need to add some washers as spacers to realign the guide mechanism. Tom uploaded some pictures of his mods in the thread.
