I used that bondo stuff "black again" or something like that.. it was AWFUL it was basically black paint.. you can still see remnants of it on my fender after i dont even know how long... probably been a year now.. I think that crncnn also used it on his cladding with not very good results
I do remember one person saying they liked it though.. I could see it working well to make your cladding really dark permanantly if you used like 3-4 coats to be sure its even, it was really streaky to put on
imho i would just look for the purple mcguires tire shine and use that once a month with a few touch ups
What would you use to get it black again? Mine is fadded and swirly

Do a search and you will find a few threads about a perm solution to the cladding question. If you don't mind the weekly effort, Mother's back to black is the best thing going. Wipe it on, look for spots that don't take it the first time, reapply there. Once it all looks, wet, wipe with a dry cloth, buffing to a shine. Looks GOOOOOOD!! I'm looking into a small handheld device to aid in the application.

I 2nd that opinion, I have been using Mother's Back to Black for 4 years now and never had any problems and it is awesome stuff. My vote is Mother's Back to Black.Quote:

I've been using Endurance since shortly after purchasing the VX (I bought it new in 2001). Big vote for it - it lasts for 2 weeks in weather and up to a month if you garage at home and work. Even after washing it looks good so it only needs to be reapplied every 2-3 weeks. Plus the grape smell will trigger some olfactory response while it's being applied.
For really faded cladding there's a restoration package designed for the Chevy Avalanche that's supposed to be top notch - it's basically a special forumula paint that bonds with the cladding plastic (Urethane I believe - same as a shampoo bottle and hard to find something that sticks to it well). I've heard of good results with this.
Of the low-cost products, I think Endurance is best - it's basically a silicone made for tires. I've tried most others at different times and have been disappointed with them.

i used to use it on my tonneu cover for the 1500. with great results, never thought to use it on cladding.
