I think it has potential, and it certainly has a LOT of high dollar sponsors. But I don't think the show's producers understand that enthusiasts aren't looking for a show that would be better titled as "The Man Show Part II: Cars Edition". (Prime example: next week's show will be about teaching women to drive a stick. Really?)

I thought this was much better than the best episode of Top Gear U.S. My biggest complaint about our Top Gear is that I get the impression that the presenters are trying to come off as "too cool to be impressed with anything" and that leaves the show flat, emotionless & devoid of automotive passion. Again, it is VERY scripted/teleprompted but I think these are genuine car guys. Top Gear UK begins airing again on August 22 (BBC America.) I'm looking forward to the 3rd episode which will have James May in Nevada checking out the Range Rover Evoque.
Top Gear US will be back on July 24.

Carolla is a Hollywood car guy knows enough about cars compared to people who know nothing about them. He is no Leno who knows about cars. I am glad I saw Top Gear US before Top Gear UK that wat I got to enjoy the US version otherwise I would have been dissappointed. I have to say the US episode where they bought an old GM car dreove it to see what GM car they should bring back was fun. Also the pick up truck in the Arctic was good. But TG UK is still better
Yes, I love the Rally Fighter! Only truck I've gotta say that outshines the VX's coolness/rarity/oddness. That and the VX are my two dream trucks... one down one to go right? :smilewink
