OK, the parking lot at the "abandoned" restaurant sounds good for a meet up place. Then on to the festivities......
Sounds like Frank had a rough trip up to N.Y....hope you can get that leak taken care of quick. If you find out where to check the Tranny Fluid let the rest of us know...I haven't found mine yet either:confused:
Looks good for at least 12 VXers being there(WOWZERS) and 3 still on the fence post deciding which way to go. This turning out to be a real "show of force" for the VX community. I am so geared up....the hell with the weather(it won't be a problem
:mbrasd: )
See everybody there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! John[FONT=century gothic]
I will do my best to get there also. I can do some x-mas shopping on the way home i guess. I still have 5 days... My first car meet. Woohoo!
I will be there! See ya all .
As of Saturday evening at 10:00 pm we have the following VXers coming on Sunday:
DRDavid4U,TheBear54,NYC#1Ironman,SkidPlate,Newsman , Zaddam123,BeaverTractors,AndyC,BigJoe,Hanalei,Javy , Sheik-Yur-Booty and LiquidVX (that's 13 members).
We are hoping that Francesco Rizzo can solve his tranny leak problems by today. We still have not heard from Jame1_10018,
Otto,NJ99VX,Chrisepwoz or Vettewars yet but we are hoping they will just show up anyway
Remember we are all meeting around 11:00 am at the abandoned restaurant parking lot near the entrance. Bring your cameras and prepare to have some fun.
Adam and I will both have some good VX stuff for sale at the meet...if anyone is interested.
SEE YOU ALL THERE...........John:D :D :D
I haven't seen an actual address for this meet. Does anyone have it or is just past the Monticello Race Track? It'll help out with the GPS :)
See you guy in while:p
Hey Andy.....
Exit 105-B on Route 17, which is the Race Track exit, is the only address we should need. After that just follow the signs to take you right to the track.
SEE EVERYBODY THERE:D
John
At this very second( by the way it's 6 am) It looks like we are going to have an wasome turnout for the meet today.
Weather-might be a little soggy(40% of rain).
Turnout- looks like we should have 16 VXers out there at the track. If everybody shows up this will be one AWSOME meet.
Thanks again David for starting this and getting everybody fired up.
Make sure everybody checks out my VX site in January to see a full blown coverage of the meet w/lots of photos; http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/...hicrossowners/
See everybodt there..........John
16 VXs and one Honda Element.
If your for real about wanting to by a VX.....as soon as my VX gets back from the dealer, I might sell it. You can contact me at "javiernyc3@yahoo.com" for pictures & details.
I just saw a white VX /w roof rack and lamps passing the Monroe exit west-bound while I was driving east on 17; nice ride... I hate not being able to make it.. sorry everyone.... maybe this spring/summer...leaving for italy in an hour
Great to meet you all!
Thanks again for visiting Area 51! ;eekr;

I just got back :) Did a little Christmas shopping. Well that snow just followed me back. It was pretty much all rain once I got off the "Area 51" mountain site :)
I spent a little time in some stores in Poughkeepsie and when I came out it was like a blizzard. The roads were slick, I saw a few cars off and a major traffic jam on the base of a hill. So decided to take as few side roads (have to love the GPS). .
While on the final leg of my return I got stuck behing a plow truck.
That kind of sucked since I couldn't get by him (over the middle of the road and Salting). There was no sense in getting plastered and chipped.
Hope everyone else made it home safely.
I'll bet George had some scarey moments .... let us know.
Andy
Sorry I missed this meet but seeing as how my boy has been home for alittle over a week I just had to spend all of my time watching him grow. I sit here and read about the North east VX'ers having a meet and laugh just thinking that most of the meets are in the winter. Since being home he seems to fall asleep after watching the VX dvd.;Dy; I play for him often. Hopefully we can get a meet in the summer of 2005. So how many VX'es made this meet? Does the west coast still have the most VX'es a 1 meet?
WOWZERS...AWSOME...
That was absolutly fantastic guys(and girls). It was great getting together and meeting everyone from the board. Get that VX soon Danny...see what you are missing.
NINE(9) VX's showed up for the Monticello Meet despite some nasty snow and blowing winds.
George you could not have picked a better starting point...The "Area 51" sign was priceless:D
We had Three "Dragons", Three "Astrals", One "Foxfire", Two "IronMan" and an "Element"(?).
Let me tell you it was a nasty trip back to Vermont. It was a good thing I left when I did, not that I wanted to leave that early, but it took me 4 1/2 hours to drive back with snow and ice all the way.
It was too bad I did not have more time to talk with Bob(Newsman) since he came a little later on.
Hey Skidplate and/or LiquidVX...post a photo of "Rogues Gallery" your girlfriends took inside.
Again guys it was a good time, we'll have to do it again soon.
Thanks David for getting the ball started.
John
Despite the weather my Ironman came through with flying colors. Kinda glad I was driving the VX instead of my Rodeo on Sunday(only two wheel drive Florida car).
430 miles round trip on ONE tankfull of gas. Yes you heard it here first...I got a whopping 21.5 miles per gallon(almost unheard of in a VX.
THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE FOR A GREAT MEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JOHN
Hey Bear, how did you manage to get 21.5 mpg? I know you get more mpg on the highway but that's incredible. Ok, fess up, what have you done to that VX !!! Share it with the rest of us!
Had lots O' Fun. Can't wait to do it again!

Hopefully with all the photos being posted the next meet will be even bigger and better, getting all the other VXers out of hiding after seeing what they missed.
Hey Lori...The mileage question- "Clean Living" ;) (only kidding:just a lot of carefull attention to detail and maintanance)
Still need a photo posting from LiquidVX and/or SkidPlate from inside the "mess hall".

Hi John,
Is the brochure stricking about thre VX? If so, I'd like it
Please advise?
Hey George,
The 42 pager(#AIMI-MKT-000-1-800M-GAC) is the full line dealer catalog. Our VX is covered very nicely on pages 11 through 18 with some awsome photos and specs.
John
I forgot to tell you all that I posted this a few days ago, enjoy.Quote:

Group Shot
Hey Skid: Thanks for the group shot, nice to place the faces with the names.
My goodness ! Do I really look that bad in person? ,,lololololol
Hey no problem.
Hopefully you can tell which name goes with which person. Newports is hiding behind thebear54, maybe it has something to do with that Honda Element he drove? j/k
Wow....we all look pretty bad...like we were up all night partying and this is the breakfast shot!!!!!!!
Anyway, thanks for posting this. Its nice to see the group all together. Its my first VX meet, but we seem to have such a great group of people we should keep these meets going more often!
Oh...and I forgot to mention....
after seeing all your great VX's all I can think of is
"SO MANY MODS TO DO , SO LITTLE TIME!"
Thanks for compliments on photoshop alteration. Here are the few pics I have from the meet.

Here I am at 4am the night of the meet. Snow is so much fun with a VX, I turned downtown Branford, CT into my private Swiss style rally course. Brought my girl along to take pics of the action, but it was too cold for her... sorry guys no pics except this one.
http://www.liquidproduction.net/vehicross/snowcat.jpgI freakin LOVE T.O.D.
VX is like beautiful woman. How does that Sir-Mix a lot song go...?
http://www.liquidproduction.net/vehicross/montmeet1.jpg
Since I think we all have a great time at Monticello we should do again as soon as the weather breaks. Maybe at the weekend meet I have planned in Vermont.Check out my site for info on that one: http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/...hicrossowners/
We have 67 members on the VX board who live in NH,VT, MA, CT, RI, NY, NJ and PA--Now if we all got together how AWESOME would that be. We all got excited about 9 VX s together in one place, can you imagine what would happen if 67 got together?
It boggles the mind.....

Have a great and safe holiday season everybody....enjoy!
John

Ok, This should be the last posting for the Monticello VX Meet.
I have just completed the update on my VX site http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/...hicrossowners/ to include a (what I think) super article with loads of photos of the meet. Go and check it out to see what a VX meet is all about if you have never been to one. This was my first...but won't be the last
