Lemme guess. Ebony's are so fast that you actually caught up to yourself and tapped your own rear (evidenced by the ding on the door).
Lol... I bought like that
Me and my future wife just bought this one... it should be delievered to us by Friday :)
Car fax was 100% clean!

Nice. Haven't met Richard (Detail Driven Auto's) yet, but he seems like a good guy, and others who have bought from him have had nothing but good things to say.
Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the family (and the obsession).
Thank you man, I have had a 06 Mitsubishi Evolution RS and so I can understand the obsession part! I remember when I was in high school my dad took me to an Isuzu dealer to look at these, I knew I wanted one from than on...
Richard has treated me with so much respect, I only wish I could buy the other two he has lol..
Hi all,

Nice to meet u all!!:grino:
Welcome, welcome. Be sure to post some pictures of you VX when you get a chance.

i love this thread
the more i see this thread the more i want to change my rims lol
Bought an 80k mile Ebony just over 1yr ago. Got it from Navistar. We'll call this post my 1yr anniversary. (It's also my 100th post).
Kinda wanted to post here with new wheels and maybe a 1-2" lift. Haven't gotten a chance to do either yet. (I've got my eyes set on a wheel no one else has mounted up yet too.)
Thanks for all the help/feedback so far VX guys and gals!
Gregg
One of these days I'll get a few pics taken and posted of the winter wheels and tires I'm currently running. Nothing you all haven't seen before (18" Borbets w/GeoLanders) but different than my summer shoes to be sure.
Here's my Monster VX

2000 Ebony #0488 29,600 miles :)

OK, checking in again. Had to make a delivery recently so I threw the hitch back on the VX and hit the road. (The U-Haul is a 6'x12' enclosed trailer.) The wheels are of course the all too common 18"x8" Borbet CW3 with 265/60-18 Yokohama Geolander ATS's that have since been removed and stored in exchange for the summer 20" Boss wheels seen above.
Lower quality photo taken with my cell phone so not quite as shiny as before. :o

Still super shiny, even with the cel cam. What do you use on that thing? Do you apply by hand or by machine.
Just picked up a Turtle Wax "Black Box" http://www.turtlewaxblackbox.com/ this past weekend and I'll use it this weekend to get the VX ready for Moab. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Still the same process. Clearcoat polish applied with a $25 slow-speed 6" orbital buffer with a soft sponge pad, then hand-applied wax removed with microfiber polishing cloths.
I'm starting to think I just got lucky awhile back with a great 3M product. The clearcoat polish has always been the part of the process that has made the most difference.
Wow, I've been on here for a few years and haven't checked in yet.
Well i guess better late than never. Here she is :bgwo:

Checking in.
Here's mine after a lot of work.
http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/2/img7.jpg
Bought at 94,000 miles and have only put on 500 miles since finishing all the work.
What I have done:
Upper and lower ball joints
Tie rod ends.
Wheel seals and bearings
Removed the front differential and did Axle seals and bearings and filled with synthetic gear oil.
Dropped the transmission to change the torque converter seal and did the transmission filter and filled with synthetic transmission fluid.
Pic of the transmission taken out:
http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/515/tran.jpg
Had to drop the transmission again to change the rear main seal. Stupid to not have changed it when I first had the transmission out.:madb:
Oil Pan Gasket.
Drained rear differential and filled with synthetic gear oil. Doing this got rid of the gear whine completely.
OME 913 springs and torsion bar crank.
Terra Grappler tires with KMC wheels. Loved how Rickshaw's looked.
Fixed big crack in the hood insert.
Bunch of other stuff...
So.. Finally I am getting around to post some pics...
Have been doing some work including some paint and interior...
Sooo... Coming along! :bgwb:
Here are some....
Other side...
Interior...
AND... For the Preview of the Brush Guard!!!!!
Many THANKS to JoFotoz.. for allowing me to Sport the "ORW" original BG!!!!
More to come!!
Late check in....http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/da...bs/image67.jpg
Just got my first ebony from Buffy, I've driven my stepdads proton(tom4bren-vx with crazy offset) for about 3 years now so I'm a tad bit of a trader but I love my ebony and I plan on plasti-dipping it dukes of hazard orange.
According to Boy, his has to stand out more than mine ... so ... Blaze Orange. He's planning on Plasti-Dip so it won't be permanent.
Pickin her up tomorrow with a 450 mile drive back home! wish me luck! 2001 Ebony with 84k, any tips?
