How much is a pair (oem) going for? I'm sure some of us can pitch in several bucks towards another pair to send in by next week, with the amount of interested VXers.

I really started this thread a lot earlier than I probably should have.
The first pair cost $50, and If I have to get a 2nd, I'd probably try to weasel them for 1 free set out of the whole bunch, ya know...for bringing them business.

That price ($75) sounds reasonable, and I'd be in for one set. Are they going to make clear and smoked versions??
IF they are QUALITY, I am 100% down with paying $150 for 2 pairs. I'll even pay for the shipping. That's how bad I want clears. Even though, my blacked out side markers look good too.

Did you happen to see any finished product? Or did they just need a sample?
I would like to see how they look. I am still interested at that price for ones that are quality. Probably a couple sets. Any time frame? So I dont have to throw together that kinda money. (Kinda broke) The color of the housing doesnt concern me but for a few dollars more i would have them colored silver.
Ditto to CrnCnn's post. I'm down for 2 sets if they are of good quality and I 2 would also like them painted silver or chrome. I'm ready to purchase.
Quality is assumed...at least by me. I don't know anyone who wants anything that's low quality on their VX!!!
Smoked and Tinted were original options and there's been no mention of them no longer being so.
I have not seen, in person, any sample of their work, although I'll ask them again if they have any throw-away piece they can mail me.
I still have to send them another pair for them to produce a set of molds, so I would say it will still be at least a month, if not a couple before they are ready to sell.
Does anyone with or who's had clear lenses in the past know if the bulb housing is even that visible through the lens? I wouldn't think the color of it to be too important, but I wouldn't want it to look tacky if it can be prevented.
For those that have expressed interest in colored, I'll ask what options they have.
Well I don’t know if you have purchased the clear fronts from Ron, but they aren’t that quality of a product. No offense to him I hear his skidplates are great but the lenses are …. Meh… So those of us that have got them are maybe a little leery of buying things like this that we cant put our hands on first. :cool:Quote:

The housing for the ClearCorners ones was completely visible. Ron's was not. On both, however, the adhesive was a bit of an issue. You could see the bonding through the clear lens. I masked off thelens and painted a black frame around the light so you could not see the bond. Ron's were considerable less work to hide this since it was molded from the OEM as to where ClearCorners was a completely aftermarket design (flat compared to the bulbous OEM.... and flat was actually somewhat more desired in my opinion).
Regardless of the $75 and the possible visible bond, as long as the plastic used doesnt brittle up and crack at the first sight of sun and/or cold, I am still game.

i would get a pair of the smoked..
as a proton owner i'd be down for a set of smoked and tinted since I've been planning on smokin' or tinting all my lights and window's.
BTW i appreciate all you been doin on this.

Hmm, my initial thoughts are, what adhesive are they using, what is the life of that plastic housing (just how brittle are they?), and is the adhesive/seal gonna be cleaner looking than what is pictured?
In my experience with many aftermarket lights I have had for all of my cars, they tend to be climate dependent. Cold, cool, warm, and hot weather have different reactions to plastic.... so that is my main concern. I have had some haze over, crack, and even dry rot in less than a year. If we cant get a guarentee on product replacement, it would be nice to at least be able to get a "this is what you can expect" in case we have to switch them out with an OEM set for certain seasons.
Just some thoughts....
...and I will purchase 2 pair post haste!

so whats the total price now?
I should have some answers tomorrow on when they'll be ready to accept orders, and how they'd prefer to do it.
I don't have a problem taking orders, and payments, but as long as they are the business doing business I'd be more comfortable not being a middle man.
You never know what can happen.
One of the last questions I asked them was about discounts for more than 1 order, or 2, or whatever.
They shot down any chance of any kind of discount, so as it stands they will run $80 per set. Or $75 with a white housing as opposed to silver or black for $80. (see posts above for info on colors)
A tad more than I would have hoped for, I'll be the first to admit.
However, there's been a lot of interest for them and I think the majority will be pleased they are available. :right:
I can't say it enough times...I hope they are quality.
And for those owners that never got a chance for the FRONT clear lenses that Ron provided, they will be working on them also. Why I didn't have them do those first, to get a sample of their work, is beyond me.
Of course Ron was still around then and I had no idea of the process it would be supplying them with lenses for the molds, and the wait time, etc.
And I already had Ron's clears. :p
Oh well...
I think I have a pair of Amber front lenses if you want to send those off for prototyping- send me a private message as to where you want them sent, and I will send directly to them (or to you if you prefer).

Yeah, it would be nice to have fully molded front clears, as opposed to the lay over types from Ron.
