Jon where did you get the red trooper? Was it for sale in Moab? Thanks for posting pics! You know, the depression isn't as bad as it is when I would have just gotten back from Moab......
I did, (Rock Chucker) in the CJ-7. Did not force it & backed off quick. The Big Beater truck ended up with the clutch linkage disconnected so Eli had to back off with that too. I never got to Widow Maker because of a simple ignition connection issue in my dad's Willys. I don't think I have ANY VX pics so I'll keep the pics of the American Wheeler stuff to myself. :p
That's pretty much it Sue.
Already picked up a better hood and door at the junkyard yesterday along with finding the source of the oil leaks. I think later this week, I'll start tearing down the front end for a timing belt replacement and leak repair. Eventually it will get body work, vinyl wrap and a small suspension lift.
It's already becoming a fun project... as long as it doesn't distract me from the VX too much.
Here is the link to my pics.
Unfortunately most of the photos from the rain storm didn't turn out :(. There's a couple of good ones in there though.

Donner, what was the story with those two Dodge trucks? Mopar engineers testing things or what? That is crazy!
Earning their "trail rated" badge ;) :D
Well, I may not have been there, but at least my old tired Reno RS was! You better move that thing off your driveway, man!!!
Bart
PS - I hate you all. Sorry I missed this AGAIN. I'm trying for next year in the Trooper.
PPS - Jo, I've used the same excuse and gotten out of 2 tickets that way. LOL
Bart, I was going to call you from the Stoop but I knew you would not answer. :bgwo:
I think right now I will take the time to once again prod Linda into accepting she is going to Moab next year! :yeso:
I will wear a kimono with DeLoreans on the shoulders if that is what it takes!
There was a small crowd and about a half dozen brand-new full size Dodges and two new Grand Cherokees on Hell's Gate when we pulled up. All had "Manufacturer" Michigan plates. I asked one of the guys if they were testing and he said ' Uh-yeah, just validating a couple of things" then walked off.
It was fun watching drivers who have absolutely no investment in their vehicle and full authorization to push it to it's limit even at the risk of severe damage.
They stopped for lunch after they had all done Hell's Gate and we thought we would drive ahead to the Escalator and eat lunch so we would be there when they caught up. We saw them come down Dragon's Tail, but they must have taken the cut-off back to the beginning of the trail because they never showed at Escalator.
