Those shoes :o
After stearing at your baby i feel more pissed then ever about how some one stoled my old rims from my driveway. :madb:
I had plans and in my mind was those same tires.:(
The wheels look great! To bad they didn't get there a few days earlier so I could have seen 'em in person. For everyone else...those tires are great looking in person. The tread pattern is real similar to the BFG KM2's. They look BEEFY!:yesy:
I think I'm going to have to pull the rear spacers. :(
I'm not too crazy about he ~2" rake, and... the darned noise is back *intermittant*.
Dang it.
Hoping this will help.
Just for piece of mind *don't want to spend another $140 on allignment*...
Please confirm that I will not need to align again if I pull the spacers out.:o
If it doesn't help anything, I'll put them back in I guess.
What's wrong with a 2" rake? Just means you look like you're permanently slamming on the brakes. :D
Ummm, rear suspension mod should have nothing to do with alignment...and for 99 bucks, Pepboys does 1 year unlimited alignments, even on 4wd. I know some others have similar deals, but they wouldn't do it on a modified 4wd when I asked.
I still think the noise is from the rear tire rubbing the fender...:)
Hi Marlin,
I did check what you said. I have about 2+ inches of clearance in the rear. :o
Here's some more detail on the noise:
- Happens at highway speed 65+
- Sounds like metal to metal *vibration/grinding... but more on the vibration side.
(sequence):
- Steady gas at 65 mph, remove foot from gas.
- Grind Grind Grind (3 seconds)...then GONE. Like something released.
It's freaky! Does this sound familiar to anyone at all?
I have about that much as well, but when you brake, that 2" quickly goes away as your vehicle moves around on the suspension, but based on your additional info, sounds like it could be the torque converter or TOD? Perhaps caliper bolts loose? Rear diff? Can't remember if you said you checked the rear diff or not?
ALL GONE. KAPUT! FIN! NO MOAH!!!
I took the 1.5" Daystar spacers out... No more grinding!
I had just lifted it too high! The drive shaft angle was too much.
It used to feel like it was "tip-toeing"... not anymore. It's solid and stable, and it drives like it's stock!
Halleluia!!!
Finally, piece of mind. I drove it about 20 miles on the highway. Gas on, gas off...
The rake went from 2 inches to 1/4". Still looks great... just not quite so high in the back. I think I'm going to have to get a roof basket to take up some more height now. LOL.
Yeeehaawww!
LOLOLOL
Hey man, at least I was grinding, not rubbing...
...Just say'n.
:yesgray:
I have the 1.5" daystar spacers and 912's and experience no issues with driveshaft noise... wonder if it varies from truck to truck?
edit: I just went back and read that you have the 919's. nevermind!
