Thanks for posting the pics Tom!!! I'll upload our pictures the next day or so of Porcupine Rim, Golden Spike, Hello Kitty Canyon, Kane Creek, & Cliff Hanger. Didn't take too many pics this year... always felt like we were in a rush. :yesy:
Got back around 11PM last night. Drove from 90 degree temps all week in Moab to 35 degrees last night in a snow storm on Vail Pass. Had a blast & miss everyone.
I'm thinking we need a mini-stoop and trail run in Colorado in a month or so...
:)
Edit:
A panoramic pic of the crew that did 7 Mile Rim on Wednesday:

And a slight weather change on the drive back. This was on Vail Pass.
Pretty sure Sue did all her damage on Porcupine Rim. There was some banging going on there. Sucks the LCA got so damaged, first time I've seen that. And they SUCK to replace.
That first vid of FnT still doesnt convey the steepness of going down that first line on Carousel.
GREAT shot!!!

We made it to N Platt NE tonight...I'm enjoying a tasty adult beverage whilst listening to the melodious rumblings that can only be Jim's snoring...:sleepgray
We need as much good ju-ju sent our direction as possible, as his tranny is acting kinda skeevy...:-(
Hope to be home in my sweet baby's arms tomorrow pm...HOPE!

Gotta go upload my fav pic...:yesgray:

Home safe... :_steering
785 miles....10 hrs 54 mins...3 gas and go stops .. average of approx 72 MPH
( was paced for about 20 miles in Utah by a black State Trooper Charger... )
1 quart oil over the entire 2000 miles round trip..... all oil top ups in high elevation only.
(Dont ask MPG...I have long given up on that as its too depressing  ..)
ORW turned 30 on drive home ( 30216 miles).
Great week!
Birthday fun
excellent wheeling
new friends
new mechanical skills
AWESOME.... is it next year yet?
Jo
Got home Sunday afternoon/night. Drove to butte Saturday and from butte home Sunday. 1200 miles home is a lot of driving.
Surprised I made it home in one piece with what I broke on Kane creek.
Exhaust needs to be replaced.
Bottom front left a-arm is bent.
Trans feels like it's slipping and maybe fooked.
Rear suspension is sitting on the bump stops.
Steering is wobbly.
But other than almost sliding off the cliff on Kane's, it was another awesome trip.
Thanks to everyone that made this an awesome trip!!!!
Here Dub, let me set a mood and add some tunage to that awsome pic...

You've got an eye my friend...
I was thinkin' more Les or Craig Blacklock (Now that's funny right there, "more les"...).
But of course being from up in Gods Country, I would think that way! :rotate:
Dang, 3 tie rods and 2 LCA's this year? So far mine seems to have only suffered a fooked FPR (non trail related), smoked the clutch though it still works fine, and noticed while hooking the sway bar back up that both inner CV boots are shot (originals).
After a long az road, that was chock full of too many miles, we rolled into 58103 @ 11:ish tu pm...
SO damn glad to be home...
More on another day...now to :sleepgray

All of my Moab pics are in my photobucket library. For some reason, only 11 pics were put into the "moab 2013" folder. All the other pics are scattered in my library.

Awesome pictures Amy/Jon, thanks for posting! Working on editing mine tonight.
Glad you folks didn't post this last set of photos first. I wouldn't have continued to look. No way I will subject my car to any of those latest climbs or "cracks". Just a leisurely drive through the back country is my max. If I have to fix it in the field I shouldn't have been in that field. Thanks for the pictures, they are fantastic.

That's what I L:heart:VE so much about my Moab Fam. Whatever, whenever, wherever...everyone pitches in with parts/hands/tools/or perspiration, to get our Fam member in trouble, back to civilization (tha stoop).
Never a member of the Isuzu "Moab Mafia" has ever been left behind...
Just a Leisurely drive to the mall....

Huge props to Eric & Amy for catching these images...
....my new all time favs of the ORW in action.
Cheers
Jo
That first one with both rear tires not touching is awesome....and slightly scary.... Anyone have video?
Bart
Yea.it was a tad scary!!
Usually on the wall you only have time to think..."OH SH.." ..and youre down!
But its erroded away even more at the bottom...
So now its .."Oh $h*T, I'm still dropping"..... then yer down!!
Thanks goodness I had the Rock Bumper on...or the front of the VX would be FLAT!
Many trails are WAY tougher than previous years, lots of undercutting of walls from tires digging in, and plenty of errosion from rain/water run off.
Makes it interesting doing trails you 'think' you know!
Jo
Yeah, I will say without reservation that I would not do that in my VX. But you're Line-Xed now, so the ORW is now indestructible. :)
Bart
Unreal what these vehicles are capable of in the hands of a skilled driver. Literally going over a cliff. Literally.
That second shot is a great view of the hood scoop, Jo. Do want.
-V
It was scary watching it. There is a drop of about 100 ft or so directly to the right. When the rear wheels lifted the back end shifted in that direction. 2nd time that day I thought Jo was going to go over. First was "The Wall" when he lifted the front end and went slightly sideways.
Should get my pics up this weekend. Though mine are limited since I dont have a co-pilot/pictar taker. Usually too busy spotting to take pics then I forget to when I'm not spotting.
WOW!! Those pics of the "WALL" with Jo doing a head stand with both wheels are CRAZY!!! Pucker factor on infinity!!!
Just. Freakin'. Awesome!!!!!!
