So there you have it, a 5 speed swap is on the way. I hope yo get the parts in the next couple days and will start the swap after Christmas. Now I do see his wrecked VX as a lovely machine as my plans for it are 3.1 turbo diesel 5 speed swap! But more on that one after the 5 speed transformation for Ashley. The doctor is in...... :smilewink

If you can get one, use the 2.8 turbo diesel instead of the 3.1.
The 2.8 gives better fuel consumption (in the same vehicle) , is more easily modified for more power, and is more reliable.
Lots of people here taking the failed 3.1's out of their MU's and installing the older 2.8's.

3.1's are known for cylinder head and turbocharger failures.

Other than that, good luck with the swap.
I would love to see it done.
