I'd imagine it's more of a contract issue, to prevent unauthorized copies. Can't imagine what liability would be involved in keeping the mold. Going into production woul require a lot more testing to be sure it will work in the real world.

Chevrolet trailblazer SS is more likely to be my next ride.
Love that 395 hp LS2 corvette sourced engine and heavy duty tranny
and it has fangs.......... http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoram...201918581.html
I discovered this thing recently, looks like it'd be fun.

I owned and FJ cruiser before I owned my VX. The FJ is the only replacement.
Hello family haven't been on here in awhile,i still have my 99 with 159,758 miles on but thought about what i would buy if she ever die on me,so before i wait for that to happen i only drive her on the weekends,so on 9/28/12 :jump::jump::clap:i bought a 09 Infiniti fx 35 46,000 miles tech/nav/prem package full loaded under factory warranty 7speed pattle shiffer great cross over, but the VEHIcross is still my heart
If they only made a smaller FJ...
Autopros Swap might bring life and hope ......
Its hard to find a truck the size of our babies except a Jeep or Defender 90
Tiguan TDI may be available next year (already in EU I believe)....
Obviously not a direct replacement for the VX but from a rarity perspective this may now fit the bill. Have you guys seen the Motor Trend article?

Makes me want to go take a test drive just for S&G's. I'm sure an Acura salesman would be more than happy to accommodate anyone showing even remote interest in these sales dogs.
Just noticed that EPA fuel economy is 16/23/19, so you won't need to get used to significantly better fuel economy either. ;)
...and it's AWD. We should each buy one... or wait ten years and hope for VX depreciation.
What's the adjusted inflation cost of a $32,000 VX today, anybody?? Hmmmmm?
$41,268.76
I looked here: http://www.westegg.com/inflation/
If you pay $32000 for something now, it would have only cost $24,692.97 back in 2000.
Tom gets an "A" on this afternoons quizy. He also received an "A" on a previous threads testy... :rotate:
This is my choice (after I realized that the H3X would never be built?)

Wow! So in perspective, the FJ is a better value and has more features, better fuel economy, and more storage... Before I got into Vehicrosses, I was seriously considering getting a FJ... But I don't want that amount of debt at this time.. .trying to buy a house!
Why... LOOKIE HERE!!! http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/3443848959.html

Replacements for the vx,

Or

Or i agree with the fx35
My VX is my after!
I have to say, Gussie, I never found a good replacement for my VX... that's why I started building my own concept. While that is in progress tho, I had to buy something, so I got a Trailblazer LTZ for cheap. It is very pedestrian but it is very practical in comparison & I am still the fastest in snow storms. You can even lift them & some came with a 5.3 & stouter rear axle with a locker! Look up the rarest of them, the North Face Edition. Nothing has the personality of a VX tho...
@ Zeus
Actually i am seriously thinking about the trailblazer SS as my future ride.
I originally purchased our vx for a surprise for my wife. She drove it the first year until my lifted ZR2 Chevy S-10 died (@250K). At the time, with a growing family, we needed vehicles with more doors. So I started searching for a new daily driver for our family. I was staying in the small SUV catagory.

This is what I came home with: '08 Toyota Rav4 Limited V6 AWD

So added a few toys and a set of new wheels (performace summer set) and it worked.....

My wife let go of the keys to the VX.
Since then our vx has been one of my daily drivers. So what to replace the VX with?
Well I would have to say..... Another VX.... Most of us have gone to the extreme to put a vx in the driveway.
Iff'n things go according to plan, & Suzy can stand a few more years of abuse without becoming a total pile, I see a pine box/dirt nap as my D-D...:yesgray:
