BTW, the pinky pointing in that pic is just a 'sighting device' used for accurate implementation of the old lightning bolt down the shorts maneuver.
Ohhh, now it makes even more sense - it also acts as an antenna to gauge the electron/proton ratio in the surrounding area for estimating the proper voltage to use.
