Howdy stranger! The real question is, where is your build-up thread?

I remember doing atleast 105MPH on the 101/1SB after an Audi Q7 raced passed me, slowed down and started taunting me... as I was with a female companion I wasn't about to turn down the competition... eventually (after we both had the lead once or twice) I slowed down and he took off. good thing too because I saw him on the side of the freeway about 3 miles later with a highway patrol car behind him.
personal best... 160ish in my moms BMW 740IL on the 101NB... everyone was asleep after a fun filled day at Universal Studios and i was cruising home and I noticed I was passing cars left and right so I peek at the speedo and it's buried at 160! damn autobahn design... I didn't even feel the speed.. SOO glad I didn't get caught by any cops...
and while we're at it... funny story. I used to cruise highway 119/corridore G at 120 in my 93 4runner and one of those days a buddy of mine pulled up beside me in his fox body mustang and asked me how fast he was going cuz his speedo only hits 85 haha... then he took off
i used to have a suzuki gsx-r 750 race bike that i took up just over 195mph on the freeway out of houston.. that was fun....was going to quick i missed my exit..and 3 others....
180 km/h.
My tyres are rated to 100mph only, cought myself at just over 90 the other day...ooops !!!
This thread got me thinking "I feel the need for speed". So I took her out on the Interstate, got in the left hand lane (our speed lane Crotchrocket), took her up to 69 mph (the speed limit is 70). Went about a mile, turned around and did it again.
So I guess my total top speed was 138.
Funny thing tho, a couple of cars passed me on the right and both of their drivers musta been veterans. They both only had 1 finger on one hand when they waved. Poors guys.
Got pulled over at 5am today on the way too work. Cop was cool though got out of yet another ticket. Cool cars and a proper attitude definately works as good as boobs for getting out of a ticket
Having a JDM gives us a transmission drag advantage 2WD - i got about 112 out of the old girl on the motorway then the Range Rover just pulled away
this is the fastest it will ever go due to the limiter coming in
I am sure it would go faster than this but i expect that holding it would eventually kill the TOD gearbox
cheers
Steve
Ummm... I have cleared the inside lane of the M1 before. I was "fairly shifting" and had I taken my eyes off the road an mirrors I could probably have seen the fuel gauge move. Not normal behaviour in the VX but I didn't have much choice that day.

I figured I'd get results, then post them so I don't end up falling into the "oh wouldn't this be cool" thread category. There's been a lot of "all show, no go" threads on here over the years. Plus, the less time typing, the more I can spend actually working towards results. I'll do a full writeup after I'm to a point where results can be shared.Quote:

Once, while responding to an emergency call for our fire department, (with permission from the local authorities) I pushed my VX until the governor kicked in...nipping at 120mph. SCARY!
Highest speed: 130MPH on the Autobahn in a SAAB when there was no speed limit.
Personal Best: Obeying the law. :)
highest speed on my VX was 115 a couple of years ago.
Now here in Mexico where once you hit highways you barely see any cops, i made 160 mph in my Ford Focus RS. Ill post some pics of both of them together soon
my VX is topping out at a max of 85.... dam ..... but i rarely take it over high 70's... too much gas,,,, but it sux it works hard to get to 85.
Mine feels like it's finally stretching its legs when I get over 90. It really starts to smooth out and feel super badass. Anything UNDER 80 feels like she's working too hard.
I have got mine to 50 mph in 2nd gear. Its a 5 speed manual. ;eeko; ;eeko; :driver:
