Mine was junk when I bought my VX. Makes me wonder what if any cd's are in it? I have the original radio in a box on a shelf. If I ever run across a working cd player for cheap I would buy it and do the same.
I dunno, got two VX's with their CD changers and both work perfectly, course now I'm jinxed...:slap:
i think it actually tells you not to in the manual (or somewhere) - if you hit a bump while its moving in the inside it can jam and you wont get anything out without pliers and/or a sawzall - just trying to keep someone from making the same mistake i did - if i could have found a replacement for $20 i would have put one back in but i just replaced with aftermarket cd/mp3 and a dash pocket - i use that dash pocket all the time
Mine still works perfect. I never put a CD in #6:bgwb:
Yes, exactly…it eats them and won't eject them. Mine was dead when I bought the truck, displayed error message ERR03 right from the get-go. It would do a clicking sound over and over and over…maybe it was trying to engage the CD and just kept repeating it…like a loop. Very annoying. Yet it couldn't play a CD. When I had my dead unit removed and ipod connection installed, the stereo shop took it apart and was able to get 3 CDs out of it….all AC/DC…so PO must have been a hard rocker! LOL.
