I did think of that actually, but that would mean I would need to make some SERIOUS financial plans to cover the loss of a weeks pay AND the expense of the trip.

Eh, it ain't that expensive...$8/day for camping and gas to get there, that's about it...you are going to eat and drink no matter where you are. :p

Back to crotchrockets question; I'm sure that Salt Lake would be the biggest airport to get into from London, but if it is cheaper to fly into Grand Junction the CoZuvoy could pick you up on our way to Moab (we pass through Grand Junction). AND, I could use a co-pilot!

This is the part I really like. For the last four years, it was only $8 a night. Hopefully, prices haven't gone up. You will only pay for the days you stay at the Portal. So if you are camping, see you at the Portal in Group "C". If you are doing the motel, the Red Rock is the way to go. Either place will have a lot of VXs.

Hey guys, I just talked to Portal and they said you were actually checking out on the 17th, so that works perfect for me...I will join you at "C". The only thing is I need to park near my tent to run a cord from my Trooper battery to my tent to power my CPAP at night, so I may need to fight for a particular parking spot in the corner, and a tent spot near the parking. But I don't think it will be a problem.

Keith "Air Amigo" and his son may join us too, not sure yet.

It is still $8/person/night for the group site, unless you are under 12 in which case it is $0 :cool: . Individual tent site are $21 for the first two people, $8 for additional people up to 4 total.

It's official.

I just recieved confirmation on Group "C" camping Site at the infamous Portal Campground.

We have the site reserved from May10th-May 16th. That means you could actually wake up on the the 17th and leave if you wanted to.

When you make reservation, it will be under my name, Tom Castillo or under Group ZuZu. Each person will be responsible for paying their site. Prices are what Swede said. It is still $8/person/night for the group site, unless you are under 12 in which case it is $0.

Swede, it sounds like you may be there before everyone else so your spot is safe.

Yeah I'm not worried about the tent, it's just if I roll into camp late evening after partying at Red Rock or whatever, and there isn't a parking spot near my tent. Not trying to make a big deal about it, but consider this...if I use the CPAP, I don't snore! :bwgr:

yup, grand junction is only about 2 hours from moab and there will be quite a few VX's coming through there that could pick you up...
