First, there is no problem with my VX transmission shifting through the gears when I drive. While driving it shifts through the gears perfectly. The only thing is when I take the VX from park to reverse or drive I have to take the shifter a little past the D or R and then back. It also seems really easy to go from P to R,N, and D. Very little friction as you go down. Definitely easier than most vehicles.
Driving wise, no issues. I'm just wondering if it's like that on other VXs.
Just a shift linkage adjustment... not a transmission problem per se. No worries.

Will an improper shift linkage adjustment or a damaged one stop me from manually putting my VX into "L" (first gear)? My shift left just stops when I hit "2" and won't go past that. I have no mode selector switch problems. All my gears and lights are correct.
I have something similar. When I shift from D to N and R I get some creaking noise from the undercarriage. It shifts fine, but it makes noise. i just figured it was because of rust.
