Tire size question....
Hey again! Ok, now hunting season is in about 3 weeks for me so although I'm not going to be takin the VX through ALLL the thick stuff..I will definitely need some offroad tires to get to camp. I can see dang near half the members have those Terra Grapplers on there...and they look great. But here's my problem...I dont want to touch the cladding. How big can I go in a BF/G All-Terrain or Mud-Terrain? And if not BF/G's...anybody else have any suggestions I can look at WITHOUT touching the plastic?
Pro-Comp X-Terrains were my first choice, but no such luck. They dont make them that small. Thanks everybody!

I just put my "Winter Wheels" on Stock 16"..And have BFG 265/70-16 with no lift and they work great and fill the wheel opening very nice. I have only been down light trails and no rubbing at all.

I have bfg 285/75/r16's and I have no rubbing problem, but i have a 3.5 inch lift so if your vx isnt lifted then i dunno if they will rub or not, but if it is these are a decent tire to go with...

...
305 70 17's...Goodyear WranglerMtr's. The equal of 34x12.5x17...stick a little out of the wheel well...nice as it keeps things away from the cladding

Spazz, your going to confuse the guy! :winky:
We all know those tires didn't fit on a non lifted, no cladding trimmed VX! ;Dy;

get the saw zaw out!!!

I'm gonna guess that 30" tires will fit, I had very minor trimming on my 31x11.5 tires
-
I also just put on my 'winter wheels', which are 245/75-16 Firestone Destination M/T's with Studs.
They are larger than stock tires, fill out the wheel wells pretty nice, and they never rub. Oh, and I haven't trimmed anything.

31x10.5 16's will fit witout any trimming.

Ok, one more question...this may sound dumb, but I was taught the dumbest questions are the one's not asked. I noticed when I'm lookin at the tire specs offered, I can see for example a 265-70-R16 and a 265-75-R16. What is the difference in those two? And if I go with the BF/G all-terrains, do you guys think (if you have already tried it, that would be great?!) that the 275-70-R16s would fit?? I doubt the 285s will...so I was looking one step down. If not, will the 265's fit for sure? I cant possibly cut that cladding properly. Trust me I could screw up a PB and J sandwich.
Thanks again for your help guys!
