If you had the connectors for the back and re-wired it, it should work. As similar as it may look - it is totally different. Even the later model Troopers are totally different, although they look very similar. I tried to use the TOD display out of one to solve my dilemma with the whote face guages. The connectors are all different, which isn't too big a deal; but the TOD guage was molded into the new cluster, whereas it was a separate and removeable part on our clusters. Anyway - good luck with that project & let us know how it goes. BTW - there is a company on eBay selling trim pieces that will fit our clusters with minimal trimming. I bought a chrome faceplate that fits behind the lens over the present black bezel, just had to trim a little off the top with a grinder. The one that fits is the one he has for a Honda Passport. I'll see if I can find a link & post.
