It looks as though my drivers side shock is out/running out. What would anyone recommend getting the shock from. These are all stock parts on the vehicle..it still has the japanese writing on it. Are they easy to install or should I have a repair shop / dealer do it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You probably will not want to replace with a dealer shock, they are around $400 each. I have the ones that I took off of my VX if you are interested in buying a used one. Do you need front or rear? Let me know if you are interested.
Many members, including myself, replaced the stock with aftermarket. There are several threads in this site that discuss the different replacements. Check them out. It all depends on how much you want to spend.
