I just got a Kenwood Z727 CD receiver, do i need anything other than the wiring harness?
Do I need a dash kit or anything for the antenna?

If the antenna connection is not on the driver's side of of your new Kenwood unit you may need an antenna extension cable. I just went through this process on a JVC head unit and there is not much slack in the antenna cable. Some higher power decks will also benefit from a larger gauge wire (fused) directly from the batt. for the "always on" connection. Not sure if the 22wx4 of your unit crosses that threshold or not.
im pretty sure a 22x4 unit wont need a wire from teh battery....i have a 50x4 and a 46x4 and neither of them have another direct battery wire...if ur running an amp...tat might be a different story...and u might need an antenna extension cable like joe said...also make sure the deck acutally fits in the hole in teh dash brezel(sp?)....

I just accomplished a similar endeavor and switched to a MP3 system. Got my "pocket" from St Charles Isuzu for $9.84 and included shipping. I cut and soldered my wires to the new system connector though and posted an existing (old now) wiring diagram from the CD manual on this site recently.
My antenna lead was too short also and I had to buy an extension for $5. Also, the dimmer lead is the one closest to the radio box (Red/Green) on the diagram.
Now I'm learning how to "rip" (not burn) MP3's.

Two words... "ISO MOUNT"... which means your brackets on your current stock deck unscrew from the side and mount to the new deck. It will fit PERECTLY... just make sure you get the radio level in the dash. Other than that, I recommend that you get a harness kit so you can wire it to the new radio and plug right into the new deck... this will make it easy to reinstall the factory one if you EVER decide to sell the VX... NOT that you'd do that... other than that, if a pocket is available for the changer position, thats a good idea... and $10 is a very fair price. If you've never done a deck before, don't worry as the major manufacturers of decks and harnesses have standardized the colors... so you can't hardly make a mistake... unless your color blind! In which case... let someone else do it! lol

Any problems with fitting the pocket? I'd love to see a pic of the finished product if you have a cam...
The pocket got lost in shipping! But, St Charles Isuzu sent me another one and it fits like a glove. The side brackets are molded onto it and it just screws on with the four screws that held the CD changer brackets. Looks great and I love the extra storage pocket.
I'm now going to see if I can somehow get those six hostage CD's released. If so, I'll try to post the magic formula.

Circuit city makes a nice harness that plugs directly into stock harness and is specific to radio brand. No soldering, no butt connectors, just plug it in. I know they make it for Sony. Have to check into it. What's the rodeo compatibility year? Anyone who knows please post.
Thanks for the advice hitnrun74! I found this while researching on wiring harness. There's another one here, but I think the former would be the correct one.
Two wiring harnesses are required to complete the installation-the Metra Isuzu wiring harness described in the first link above, and the Metra radio wiring harness that applies for the specific aftermarket radio to be used. Total cost of the 2 harnesses is about $20.
Nice finding for those like me considering an aftermarket radio but trying to avoid install complications and wiring mess.
You can find those Metra style harnesses on eBay for about $2 if you look around. They end up costing about $6 with shipping. Search using Isuzu and Passport radio.
