Cabin blower problem
My cabin blower is being crazy and I can't seem to find anything relating to this anywhere.
It will only work with the engine running
All fan speeds work
With the ignition on (engine not running) no blower and no indicator lights are illuminated
A/C hasn't worked for a few months
I can turn the A/C compressor by hand under the hood
System has proper refrigerant pressure
It's a 2001 w/ auto controls
Could it just be a matter of replacing the climate control unit?

I had a problem with mine acting very crazy. My problem (oddly) ended up being a GROUNDING problem. I accidentally left off a ground (front passenger, floor, right side) and it caused my A/C Controls to work on/off when it wanted to. This may not be your problem, but something to consider if you feel it might be an electrical problem...

I think in leaning toward something electrical. I'll probably pull the control unit and follow the wiring I guess. Was your ground problem under the carpet? I'll check it out in the morning. Thanks.

Keep in mind that I completely restored my VX and gutted it completely internally, including dash, airbags, air ducts, wiring harness, etc. Upon putting everything back in its place, I overlooked connecting a ground. My particular problem was over by the Blower Motor area, passenger side, underneath. On the right side of the VX, interior, wall, just under the glove compartment there is a grounding location w/a flange nut. Mine was loose here. I couldn't find it for 2 weeks I had tons of problems...

I took it to a well known electrical shop and within an hour he found the problem... loose ground.
In case you need a new Blower Motor, that guy is still selling them on eBay for about $69 (free s/h). I got 2 of them.
