Roof Rail/Rack design

So I've been working on some designs for a new roof rack style. I really didn't like how everything sat so high when mounted to the stock rack. So this is version one of the design.

Red = Main Rails
Orange = Removable Basket
Green = Main Crossbars, Rear one would be adjustable, or both
Purple = Curved LED Light Bar

I was thinking 1.5" or 1.75" OD aluminum tubing (maybe 6061?) for the main rails and removable basket frame. The main rails would be mounted to plates on top and under the roof. This will also replace the current rails and spoiler.

Anyone wanna throw out some ideas or changes?

I've been thinking lately about trying to score an FJ rack from the boneyard & make it work on the VX ... yer idear is mo betta.

Thanks, I thought the same thing about the FJ rack, but there was a few things I didn't like about it. So I flip flopped the main rail from the top to the bottom for mine. I still have a few more ideas bouncing around to make it a bit more modular too.

I also have been contemplating chopping an fj rack to fit, but i have also been wondering about losing the wing in the back......

You can chop it just shy of the wing... but imho, it wouldn't look all that good...
