A new Record for "Stuck"threads.

reading the unread messages this evening. I hit anew record for "stuck" threads. That is threads with not new messages which show up as messages with unread messages, but have no unread messages.

Heres is the list.

10 Threads is an all time hing. I'm going to mark them read but I really wish I knwe what caused this.

It happens when someone votes in a poll even if they don't leave a comment (that would be the reason for the "Vote" thread). The other reason it happens is if someone hits the "Bump Thread" button under the Thread Tools menu. I have a feeling someone is sick of the continuous stream of Wipe New threads so they're bumping them all to the top of the list so people see how ridiculous it is.

Dub? Sue? Any other troublemakers out there? ;)

Its caused when people use the "Bump" function for the thread...

...which in the case of the wipe stuff..is a pain IMHO !

But in the case of Jack & Whitney..awesome.

Hope you are voting for them everyday..call it "Quid Pro Quo"...

I thik you're wrong.

I generallly go through the unread posts from top to bottom. Ocassionally there is a post thatt, although I have read all posts persists through multiple "Unread" searches.

I can clear it using the 'Quick Link" -> "Mark Forums Read" In this case after mutliple searches the threads posted persisted. In fact after running 'Mark Forums Read" and returing a just now I am see the following threads are still "stuck"

I am using Firefox on WIndows and Linus and see the sam effect. I can't beleive no one else sees it.

If you want to test here is what you do.

After you login in click on the "XX Messages Unread" link,
Read the first thread.
Continue to click on the "XX Messages Unread" link.
You may from time to time get an error message stating that you can only run 1 search within 10 seconds.
Eventually some threads will be left on the list with no *unread messages/.

I agree with your theory Mav and gawd no, why would I waste anybody's time on bumping 9 threads on THAT topic? I suspect it was done by somebody that read my post #8 with the link to the other 9 threads�and bumped each one. :_shrug:

And rsteinmetz, I'm thinkin' you may hold the record for # of posts without owning a VX...:p
