Been a few years since I've posted here. I moved from Santa Cruz, Ca to Kona, Hawaii a few months ago and I'm loving it here. I took a few snaps.
(I won't mention how the Republicans got reamed this last election.)

I went up and down that crazy steep road in pouring rain too..the VX handles Hawaii like a champ.
I really love living here, my pad is 500 ft from the ocean and close to town.

Maybe some of you VXperts can answer a couple "Hawaii" related questions.
Everytime I try to drive up to Mauna Kea the VX cuts out. I have plenty of gas but the car just dies and I have to pull over a few minutes and it starts up again and If I try to keep ascending it punks out again. My car has a catalytic converter for California Smog laws and I know that has "oxygen sensing" of some kind. The VX is fine and problem free at low altitudes but I soon as I take it over 4000 feet it gets sputtery.
The other thing, I want to program my remote for silent operation, so It does not chirp on activation, is that a possibility? Every time it chirps its like telling the locals around here I have something worth ripping off.
The alarm manual used to be in the Downloads section, but the link has been broken for a while. (Ha ha, the manual calls it a "buzzer"!)
GET INTO PROGRAMMING MODE
1) Sit in driver's seat with all doors closed
2) Press & release remote control top button to lock the doors, then once again to unlock the driver's door only.
3) Open the driver's door only
4) Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to ON (not ACC) 5 times within a 10 second period.
(LOCK --> ON --> OFF --> ON --> OFF --> ON --> OFF --> ON --> OFF --> ON)
* The "buzzer" chirps once.
* The marker lights & parking lights flash once.
* The status indicator LED will turn on for 30 seconds.
Within the 30 seconds you must select the mode:
BUZZER OFF
A) Close the driver's door
B) Turn the ignition switch to "OFF"
* The "buzzer" chirps once.
* The marker lights & parking lights flash once.
Change your mind later?
BUZZER ON
A) Close the driver's door, then open and close it again.
B) Turn the ignition switch to "OFF"
* The "buzzer" chirps twice.
* The marker lights & parking lights flash twice.

Mauna Kea.... Maybe the highest point a Vehicross has ever been photographed...Well I know I was!
Looks like a great place to be that high! Haha
