Yesterday out for a ride and when accelerating from stopped position strong engine noise sound seems to be coming from beneath vehicle. It happens in neutral or drive. Happens between 1st and 2nd gear as well as between 2nd and 3rd. Higher then third when accelerating you know our vehicles are pretty loud anyway.
Definately no a muffler issue.
Any thoughts?

Maybe your EGR nut has backed out and needs to be screwed back in and re-tightened?
Or the exhaust heat shields.
when one of my heat shields went it would make a horrible sound every time got up to a certain rpm
exhaust was shot inside
