Tire gremlin
I had a slow leak in the RF tire that I couldn't locate so I stopped at Firestone on my way home last night for them to check it out (that's where I got the tires at a few months ago).
After about 30 minutes the manager called me over. The tire is unrepairable. It has a small tear at the bead. They had already gotten on the computer trying to find a replacement & the system indicates that there is only 1 un-sold tire in the entire country in that size (33x12.50 R15).
It was close to closing time so they'll continue the search today. I'm driving now with 3 ATs & 1 MT on the ground. I'm not a happy camper.
I'll stop by again after my 3:30 appointment with the front end shop @ Quantico for them to check that front bearing that caused me to fail inspection yesterday ... not a good day for t4b.

Thats irritating. I hope today brings better news.
-
Give us the tire info. Maybe someone here can locate one for you with the power of the interwebs.

Just got a call from Firestone. They located a tire in Iowa and are having shipped in. This time next week I'll have a normal footprint again.
Now just keeping my fingers crossed that the bearing issue is easily resolved.

New tire installed last night - I'm GTG
Also passed re-inspection for bad bearing this morning.

What did the two different tire types to do the TOD? Isn't it supposed to act up with missmatched tires?
-
My TOD is acting up anyways. After about 15 minutes of driving, it starts flashing.
Not sure how it would affect it anyway since I have locking hubs installed & set to freewheel.
-
Then it probably wouldn't have a noticeable effect since it's not tuning the front anyhow.
-
Yah, but the wheel speed sensor still is (or is the sensor in the TX case).
All I know is that I just haven't had the incentive to go out & read the codes & that it triggers whether the hubs are locked in or not.

Slow leak is back on the same wheel. Not sure if I want to take it back since they may not be able to find a replacement. Maybe I'll just slime it & see if that works.
