That VX was for sale for years. It looks like this guy might be a collector or restorer.

I've noticed that quite a few VX's for sale don't have the ENGINE COVER...how do you not have the engine cover...who takes that off anyway...
Here's the older threads on this one: frame damage, odometer rolled back....

Mark,
Excellent use of the word "y'all". I knew youz guyz up Nort were all right.
I seem to remember their car was Red w/ white stripe and in decent shape. That VX was one used up vehicle hopefully the new owner can save it. As for the engine cover it is hard to keep on when the spongy things holding it on keep falling out. I am down to three with one somewhere down in the motor.

Good find!
Funny part is - those are new Starsky & Hutch stripes. The old ones were a little thinner, longer on one side and were filled with cracks. Also, the hood insert was not red when I saw it.

I'm surprised at how good the exterior looks (well, as much as you can tell from small photos) because the previous dealers photos (above) were very outdated when I saw it. In person the VX looked like it had at least one year's covering of grime / weather. I wonder if the new seller was able to get the "abandoned in a field for 50 years / maybe I've been submerged / dead car" smell out of the interior.
.
I doubt he'll be joining us here. I guess he bought it to fix it up and sell it. It still has major issues, but it's much better cosmetically speaking anyways. At least he's put it up with no reserve. It could be a part-time spare vehicle and used for parts to keep your original VX going. :_confused

When I was looking to buy my VX when I was in Fort Worth, I went to look at this one, and as soon as the told me that they were unsure about the miles, I walked away. Glad I did too, because I got my girl and she has been perfect to me other than when I break her. I actually thought all VXes had that stripe when I started looking because it was the first one i found.
That thing is UGLY, why we hunt him down down in these parts to get him to join? lol
I just graduated college today actually and will be moving up to Rockwall Tx, if i come across him, i will flag him down and tell him to join
thank you! i am ready to start earning some money!!
:mbrasd: I did.. :mbrasd:
But in my defense, it was under full contact, combat party conditions...:naughty:
Hey, we needed something to serve tasty snack chips & P-nutz in...
And the nice serving bowl had somehow been burned beyond recognition...:_confused

Nobody is sayin' pay $5K and use it as your daily driver. If you can get it for under $4K, you got a ton of great parts there. I'd love to have that VX sittin' unregistered and uninsured as my spare parts depot. I think this guy made it look very presentable. I wouldn't trust the drive train, but man, all them great body parts. :_confused
