Stainless Steel Cladding Bolts

One day, while sitting on the can at work, I looked up and saw on the stall wall partition bracket, a screw head that looked just like what I've been looking for to replace the stock cladding screws!http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/da...room_stall.jpg

So, I (just happened to have with me) grabbed my torx screwdriver set and removed one. I took it to a local fastener store called "Fastenal". They took the screw, did some research and called me back a week later saying.."We found them!" So, I ordered 50 (their min. order) of them.

I tried it on when they arrived and was surprised to find that they actually look GOOD and fit!

Let me rephrase that... It's a direct replacement. It fits very well.
BUT... I should say but: (very small but): the screws are a half a hair larger... uh.. girth than the stock ones. So, there was some "tick tick" -ing sounds when screwing them in. But, they work just fine!

Also note that you'll need a security bit for your torx screwdriver to install them. That pin in the center of the head will prevent you from using the standard bit.

good thing he's not a mathemetician; he would've had to work it out with a pencil.

Mmm. Maybe I can see if they have the same thread with the cone type head that I have been looking for. (anodized black & cone type head) from my previous thread. Certainly would save the hassle of having to add thread inserts with a Riv-Nut kit.

I still want something that sticks out a little past the cladding. Might have to slip a washer behind it as well.

Correct. They sell the tool at the same store if needed.

I was going to post on your thread, but then I realized you were looking for black with cone head. I had missed that bit of info when I originally read it, so I made this thread to not hijack yours. :)


BTW... I have 14 of these screws left, and am willing to mail a sample to anyone who wants to test it out. Or, if you have a security screw torx driver, you too can be a bathroom stall screw thief!

With the head size so much smaller, I'd consider a washer mandatory.
