I've been researching on this. So far, I know that the Toyota R154 transmission is very similar to the AR-5 transmission used by GM (just a matter of bell housing swap). I currently have an AR-5 transmission and I've been looking around for a 2jz to try to bolt on to. I'm finishing up my 6ve1 semi-rebuild. But the next time my engine decides to crap out, guess what engine is going in... >:).

I've helped shove a 2JZ into an S2000 but I think you could find some easier/better swaps for the VX. They are sweet motors though. Also the Isuzu AR5 is slightly different, same basic trans but bellhousing pattern is different and input/output shafts are different. Do you have a GM AR5 (solstice, colorado, H3 etc)?
